Avneet Kaur is an Indian actress and dancer. Kaur was born on 13 October 2001[1] in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. She completed her sixth class studies in 2013 at D.A.V. Public School, Jalandhar. She is currently persuing her tenth class studies in Oxford Public School, Mumbai. Kaur started her career with Dance India Dance Li'l Masters as a contestant. She also participated in another DID series titled, Dance Ke Superstars. Kaur made her acting debut with the soap opera Meri Maa playing the character Jhilmil. Later, she played in a comedy series entitled Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain. In June 2012, She participated in the fifth season of a dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Thereafter, she portrayed the leads in the 2012 television series Savitri as young Rajkumari Damyanti, and the 2013 television show Ek Mutthi Aasmaan as young Paakhi Kapoor. Kaur started her filming career with the 2014 Hindi film Mardaani in the role of Meera. Kaur last appeared in the 2014 TV series Hamari Sister Didi as Khushi.She was recently seen as Rajkumari Charumati,Rajkumar Bindhusar's first wife,in Chandra Nandini.[2]

Kaur also worked in 30+ TVCs with reputed brands like Maggi, Hindustan Unilever.

Career

Kaur began her career as a dancer on Zee television's kids dance reality series Dance India Dance Li'l Masters,[3][4] in which she appeared as a contestant, and finished in the top three.[5] She then participated in another Dance India Dance series titled, Dance Ke Superstars, where she joined the team of "Dance Challengers".[6] Kaur made her acting debut in the 2012 Life OK's drama series Meri Maa,[7][8] in which she played the lead role of Jhilmil.[6] Thereafter she played in the SAB television's comedy series Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain, produced by Shri Adhikari Brothers and Drama Queen Company. She portrayed the character of a fun-loving and intelligent girl.[8] While working in Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain, she participated in the fifth season of Colors television's celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,[8] she appeared as a dance partner along with contestant Darsheel Safary for choreographer Jai Kumar Nair during the first week of June 2012, and she was eliminated at the end of August 2012.[4][7][9] Later Kaur was featured as the female lead in Film Farm productions' drama series Savitri, in which she played the lead role of young Rajkumari Damyanti. The show aired on Life OK television from November 2012.[3] In August 2013, Kaur would play the female lead in Zee television's soap opera Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, where she was cast as young Pooki Kapoor, a pampered child of a rich family.[10][11] During her work in the show, she appeared in the entertainment show of the ZeeQ's news bulletin titled, The Weekly Rap as Herself.[5] Kaur also worked in various television advertisements includeing Clinic Plus, Maggi and Lifebuoy Handwash.[5]

Kaur started her filming career with the 2014 Pradeep Sarkar's Hindi film Mardaani, in which she was cast as the niece of Rani Mukerji's character.[6][12] Kaur has also signed another film project with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, where she will play the lead as a junior character.[6]

In September 2014, she played the parallel lead in the DJ's Creative Unit productions' soap opera Hamari Sister Didi. The show is an Indian adaption of a USA television series Hawthorne. She played the role of Khushi, a teenager girl in the seventh class. The show was aired on Sony Pal television from September 2014 to February 2015.[1][13][14] She can be seen in advertisements and a film entitled Brunie which was released in late 2017. She recently appeared in the TV Series Chandra Nandini as Charu mati on Star Plus.
