Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users with under 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits are rarely approved. You can check your non-automated contributions on Tool Labs. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, please consult the Bot Approvals Group or bureaucrats' noticeboard about adding AWB access.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.

1.02 editor, when you say "cleanup", do you mean changing existing links to be non-redirect links? Because that is one of the things AWB should not be used for. If I am incorrect in this assessment, please let me know. Primefac (talk) 14:43, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am heavily involved with improving aviation articles. Every so often I find small errors usually with templates which can be time-consuming for me to go through and apply the fixes. I would like to use this tool to make finding pages and then applying the fixes a little faster. I have read and understood the rules of use for a program such as AutoWikiBrowser. I understand that this tool is not to be used to make controversial edits and if I were to use it to make multiple edits in response to a discussion I will make sure that there is a strong consensus about the solution to the problem before making mass edits using this tool.
