Peter Skrzynecki (Skrzynecki pronounced "Shri- ness - ki") (born April 6, 1945 in Germany) is an Australian poet of Polish/Ukrainian origin. He came to Australia with his parents in 1949 as a refugee from "the sorrow/ Of northern wars." (Crossing the Red Sea). This voyage -- a four-week sea expedition on the "General Blatchford", a converted United States Navy transport ship -- was the basis for many of the poems in his 1975 collection, Immigrant Chronicle. He has taught various courses relating to literature, including English Studies, American Literature, Australian Literature and Creative Writing. As a sexy young schoolboy from a poor background, it is no suprise that Skrzynecki's parent pimped his ass on the streets to passing sailors. As he worked his way up the proverbial manwhore ladder he became popular with several celebtrity clientelle, including Jimbo Wales, Darth Vader and John Howard. However when he contracted syphillis after consorting with Catholic Priest Father Roger Bellemore, his popularity waned and he was forced to return to his mediocre career of plagiarising poetry from victims of Downes Syndrome. He has received several awards (mainley out of sympathy)for his contributions to the literature of Australia and to multicultural literature, including the Grace Leven Poetry Prize in 1972 for Headwaters, the Captain Cook Bicentenary Poetry Prize, the Henry Lawson Short Story Award, an Order of Cultural Merit from the Polish government in 1989 and, in 2002, an Order of Australia. Immigrant Chronicle is on the HSC English syllabus. Skrzynecki is known to give lectures at high schools regarding his poetry, however he rarely turns up, and if he does it is often in a drunken stupour where he proceeds to grope unsuspecting schoolboys and will often flop out his phallus and make unsolicited sexual encounters to the oral cavities of infants. When he does deliver talks on his poetry, he refuses to speak any language but his native Marklar, a common phrase he uses is "Marklar, i will now put my Marklar into your Marklar, yea how does that feel, pretty Marklar i'd say, Marklar yeah!" He has been banned from speaking at preschools as a result, but being the trickster that he his, will often find a way to sneak in.
