Picture used at the top of the article

Perhaps a photo should be used that shows his face?

There is no link to the Knapp Commission report here. Is there anyone out there that can add that? I cannot seem to find it anywhere. ~ The Knapp Commission resulted from the efforts of Frank Serpico and D. Durk.~ Thank you Queendavis (talk) 19:19, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"He survived and continued to testify for the Knapp Commission. He retired from the NYPD in June 1972. He was also awarded the Medal of Honour for conspicuous bravery in action. While travelling in Europe during 1979 to 1980, Frank Serpico lived in Orissor college in Corwen, incredibly he was one of the founders and Director of Orissor which used to be known as the the Old Union Work House and more recently Corwen Manor (His signature is on the deeds). He was well known in and around Corwen and frequently mixed in the towns pubs, some of the older towns folk remember him well. After a disagreement with Orissor he stayed for a few weeks in a B&B before he returning to New York City in 1980".

Notable indictments should be added

This is not an area I'm versed in, but the lack of information about relatively notable indictments as a result of the commission really stood out for me. There should be a number, as police officials are usually political appointments, sometimes elected. Needless to say, indictment by the Knapp Commission itself would make them notable. This is being added to both the Knapp Commission and Frank Serpico articles. IMHO (talk) 18:51, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Murphy

The article should mention the fact that Serpico held Patrick Murphy (police commissioner) responsible for his ordeal. He confronted Murphy some years ago and said "I've been carrying a bullet around in my head for 35 years and I hold you resposible." Logicman1966 (talk) 07:02, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation of last name

Can someone add the preferred pronunciation of "Serpico" to the article? I remember as a child I saw a promo for a broadcast of the movie on ABC and the voiceover pronounced it with the emphasis on the first syllable. However, I knew a woman in the nineties with the same last name and she said her family preferred to place the emphasis on the second syllable, with the "i" pronounced like a long "e". --anon. 71.183.133.71 (talk) 21:22, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Biography

The article claimed the book was from 2005, which made the article internally inconsistent. The film was based on the book, so the book couldn't have been 2005 but was in fact 1973 and the wrong edition was used as a ref. There's incorrect book review chronologies out there - as overturned in the obituary source. There were no sources in the author's article. Fixed. Widefox; talk 01:05, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
