CHICHI7YT's Wikipedia Drafts

You declined Draft:Welcome Tour because it needs more news sources about the tour that aren't coming from fan sites. However, I've been having difficulty finding news sources about the tour that aren't from fan sites. Could you help me please? CHICHI7YT (talk) 00:39, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CHICHI7YT, how about more newspapers or magazines? If the fan site has archives of news clippings covering the show you can cite those newspaper writeups. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:33, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, my main source for the draft was this. However, the page doesn't show news clippings, only posters for gigs. I don't think posters are a reliable source for a Wikipedia article. CHICHI7YT (talk) 02:58, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, posters and Santana's website only show that they toured. If there are magazine writeups or news clippings that would be better. They can be offline, but they need to be articles that someone who has access to them at a library or whatever can dig up . Look for headlines like "Santana announces Welcome Tour." or "Santana Welcome Tour" How did you know that they changed lineups on a certain venue? Or that they played to 65,000 people at a certain place. There must be news articles for stuff like that.AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:41, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, Here's a nice collection put together by a fan site for The Band when they toured with Bob Dylan in 1974. [1] If there's something similar, you could cite those news articles. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:09, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, it turns out the info about Santana changing lineups on a certain venue comes from a memoir by Carlos Santana called The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. It is okay if I use that book as a reference? CHICHI7YT (talk) 19:23, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, it would be a primary source, but it at least has information that he publicized. A biography for Santana would be secondary and could be used for that too. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:16, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, should I add citations for pages I used in the books for reference? CHICHI7YT (talk) 01:37, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, you can if it helps. There's a way to do so like with Anthony Field. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:27, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, I added a citation to a page I used in Santana's autobiography for reference. So what now? CHICHI7YT (talk) 20:45, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, are there any news articles that call it the Welcome Tour? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:13, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, no. The Welcome Tour is how I call the tour, because it started shortly after the release of Welcome. I guess a better name for the tour is "Santana North American Tour 1974" or something. CHICHI7YT (talk) 21:18, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, then yes, the name of the article should be "Santana 1974 North American Tour" or "Santana North American Tour 1974" or "Santana North American Tour (1974)" (like The Beatles' 1966 US tour), not "Welcome Tour". If you have news articles calling it as such, then that would work. It really needs some news article that has verbiage like: Santana launches the Santana North American Tour in (city). The tour will run from (date range) and visit (number) cities " AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:27, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But AngusWOOF, how do I rename the article? Also, most of the info about where and when they toured came from posters from 1974 gigs. CHICHI7YT (talk) 23:26, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CHICHI7YT, I can eventually rename it, just tell me what you want it to be at the header. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:24, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, I want the draft to be renamed "Santana North American Tour 1974". CHICHI7YT (talk) 20:26, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, thank you for renaming the draft. I have made some articles on Wikipedia, but the articles I made that I'm most proud of are Santana Tour and Santana III Tour. How are those articles, and if you approve of them, what elements from those articles should I incorporate into my draft? CHICHI7YT (talk) 22:24, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CHICHI7YT, I went ahead and accepted it. I found a site that has a pile of posters and ticket stubs for 1974. There isn't an official name for the tour, but it is clear they went on tour during that time. There are some tour dates in March you might want to add. Also some co-headlines with Golden Earring band as notes. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:53, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much AngusWOOF. The website that has a pile of posters and ticket stubs for 1974 was Santanamigos.com! I usually use that site for tour date information when I'm making Santana tour articles. CHICHI7YT (talk) 22:57, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
However, in the beginning, you declined the page because I relied on fan sites too much, but Santanamigos is a fan site. Also, I wont be adding the March shows to the page because those dates were for a separate tour by Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin unrelated to this North American tour and the Caravanserai Tour. CHICHI7YT (talk) 23:06, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry about the circular part. The posters are helpful, but I wanted to make sure it had more newspaper articles like the other fansite for The Band. You might want to mention the separate tour in the descriptions so that they aren't wondering what happened in that gap. Also noting that they toured with Earth Wind & Fire in 1975 in Europe for 42 dates. [2] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:26, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, there is another Wikipedia draft I made. This draft has been awaiting review for two months already. Like Santana North American Tour 1974, this draft is about a concert tour by Santana, but this draft includes more references and an image. This draft is called Draft:Caravanserai Tour. Will you be able to review it? CHICHI7YT (talk) 15:56, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

hi AngussWOOF. I've blitzed Draft:Jane Suiter since you declined the original creator's version 2 months ago, and was wondering if you could have another look at it? Bogger (talk) 16:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

*polite bump* Bogger (talk) 14:11, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bogger, can you indicate on that article how she meets WP:NACADEMIC? What criteria apply? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:32, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
done Bogger (talk) 13:26, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bogger, can you check with DGG on how she meets WP:NACADEMIC? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:51, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AngusWOOF, I have added all the necessary sources and sent them for verification, but the article has been in the process of being verified for almost 90 days. What do I need to do to continue the process? Thank you. Vladislav at SSHE (talk) 16:31, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Vladislav at SSHE, I don't see any news coverage of the school. Can you look for newspapers that discuss the school? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:22, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, Yes, of course! Here are the publications that discuss the school: report.az 1news.az Dukascopy TV Vladislav at SSHE (talk) 18:21, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @AngusWOOF:. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you! Vladislav at SSHE (talk) 12:07, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Vladislav at SSHE, the report.az article is just a press release-like news announcement about the president meeting with other schools. It doesn't really give in-depth on the school. The 1news.az one is okay. The Dukascopy TV is a direct interview with the president of the school, so that fits more the primary source Q&A. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:01, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @AngusWOOF: Thank you for your explanation and for the review! Here's another sources: bachelorsportal.com, edarabia.com, promove.ch, masterstudies.com Vladislav at SSHE (talk) 15:06, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Vladislav at SSHE, those are directory listings and entries in associated or connected organizations. Are there more news articles? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:10, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

hello. updated with more sources and waiting review. let me know what else is needed

You still need more external news sources, not press release announcements, regarding the specific subsidiary. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:16, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF added another source. thanks.
At this point the article can be summarized in a section under Hallmark Cards. It is only a few sentences. See WP:WITHIN AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:41, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Ian Foote

I created a draft about this person and I added all news I found. The draft is an English translation of the french Page :

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Foote

This can be notable for inclusion.

Last time, I created a French page (Eutelsat 21B) and it was accepted for inclusion :

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eutelsat_21B

Plz note i had just translated the French to the English for creating the Draft:Ian Foote

An another draft can be sumbited look :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Plan%C3%A8te_Rap

Plz check the drafts and sumbit it. I need you to sumbit the Ian Foote draft to insert a citation to this page :

196.122.250.15, you're still missing the point. You need WP:THREE sources to show he is a notable referee, and not from just one event that does not have a long-lasting impact years later. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:28, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Creation of The life and opinions of Maf the dog, and of his friend Marilyn Monroe

Hi Angus, thanks for your help last week on creating this new page, I've made further changes taking on your advice - what are your thoughts now? 26/06/19 12:26(GMT)

O'Hagan22, this was given a complete rewrite by DragonflySixtyseven. See Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe. Please note how the editor wrote in balanced Reception section which replaced your promotional descriptions. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:44, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Upland Software

Hello AngusWOOF, Here are three articles that show a depth of coverage of the company for Draft:Upland_Software rather than an event:

Thank you, Naadobea1776 (talk) 14:11, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Naadobea1776, the first two sources are of the same product announcement (7 products), and do not really detail the company history. The third one by 451 Group is a little better, explaining how it goes after acquiring companies. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 11:14, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Johnathan Brownlee Draft

Thank you for your comments on the first drafts of my first-ever article. I have reworked the citations and inserted additional ones so that only those with a specific mention are included. I do have a question about the credits in the tables -- does each role need a reference/citation? I appreciate your direction. MBAWilbins (talk) 18:14, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MBAWilbins, I would just focus on WP:THREE sources that show that Brownlee is notable. You can add citations for the filmography tables later. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:20, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the input, AngusWOOF. I have now included only citations for each film that use Brownlee's name as executive producer, producer and/or director, and have moved each citation to indicate more clearly that it is citing his role for the purpose of notability. Please let me know if there are other revisions, and I appreciate your time. MBAWilbins (talk) 12:46, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, AngusWOOF. Since your last review, I have polished the draft to address your helpful comments (added external news sources, removed excessive links, used only sources that cite Brownlee's role in each film, added more articles about Brownlee himself and his career, focused on sources that show he is notable). An editor through Teahouse also made edits. (It was gratifying to find a reference to Brownlee by Hofstra University Department of Drama and Dance on their "Notable Alumni" list alongside fellow alumnus Francis Ford Coppola.) If you have the time, your comments on the latest version would be truly appreciated. MBAWilbins (talk) 21:07, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MBAWilbins, can you list the WP:THREE sources though? Ones that are not Q&A inteviews. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 11:21, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi, The page has just been updated, please let me know if it is up to standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Webep905 (talkcontribs) 23:28, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Webep905 for Draft:Pinky Weber, it really needs more news articles independent of the subject. It needs reviews from Publishers Weekly or Kirkus, or some major newspapers. Since the author is from San Francisco, can you dig up articles from San Francisco Chronicle or SF Examiner? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:38, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hi, sorry for being late, I saw your comments on this draft Draft:The Speakeasy (San Francisco) I included your suggested references. Please check if that is ok now and guide further.Clark WestZone (talk) 13:09, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Clark WestZone, can you expand on the Reception section for the article? Talk about how (critic1) of (newspaper1) wrote that (quote1). Include balanced viewpoints of what they liked and disliked about the experience. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:39, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Studio Oleomingus

Sure. Glad you found the info. DGG ( talk ) 23:17, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 12:50:00, 4 July 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Jaibhagat1

Hi AngusWOOF, you recently reviewed and rejected my Draft:DSECT from being published. Your reason for rejection was: ″This should be summarized or explained in the context of the How to Design Programs textbook. It doesn't need a separate article. This would be like giving each of the 7 Habits its own article. "Note though that in 7 Habits, some of the concepts are independent enough to have their own article, as they are not strictly tied to the author, but this case is strictly connected to the textbook."

I think I was unclear in the article: the DSECT acronym is my own, but I got the idea from reading about software design in How to Design Programs. Since this is a new idea (that is currently gaining a lot of traction for computational neuroscience software developers), could you give me feedback on what I need to do to ensure this article can be accepted as a standalone article? Cheers!

Jaibhagat1 (talk) 12:50, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jaibhagat1, please read WP:MADEUP. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:11, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, ok, I see. Would two, published articles in peer-reviewed scientific/computer software journals in which DSECT is mentioned and briefly explained be considered enough reliable sources for a wikipedia page? We currently have two papers in review in which DSECT is mentioned. Once published, I could add them to the refs for the page.
Jaibhagat1, that is a start--but "in review" means "not published yet". Also, "we" suggests not just a group of editors but also a conflict of interest. Drmies (talk) 18:55, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Killsquad

Hello there! You declined the article for unreliable sources/references. What we did to address your comments is: 1) Changed one unreliable (Techraptor) for a reliable one (PCGamer). PC Gamer is one of the largest video game sites in the world. 2) Removed the other (COG Connected) 3) As for the third reference, Epic Games, please see our note: Epic Games is not a news site / gaming site, it's the maker of the Unreal Engine, which is extremely popular and reliable, this is a Forbes-listed company, hence it's probably the best reference about our game.

We are the developers of the title, game comes out July 16th, so our intent in creating the page was so people can actually find the info on the title when they browse wikipedia. In fact, someone else (definitely not us) added the mention to this game to our own Wikipedia developer page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novarama).

So if you could approve the page, we'd "link" it from the dev page and add 1-2 images to it (box art, etc.) so we have the type of wikipedia presence that's common for games like this.

Thank you in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:C50E:2F02:8900:4461:DE78:8B60:C69 (talk) 14:49, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2A01:C50E:2F02:8900:4461:DE78:8B60:C69, if you can keep adding more external news sources and reviews from the WP:VG/RS websites, that should help. Gameplay details should be sourced somewhere as well, even if it's to your websites. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:35, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We will definitely add sources and reviews as is customary, we just added one for example. But we're concerned reviews will come *after* release (next Tuesday) and we'd like the page to be approved by then precisely so that reviewers can add reviews & data as it emerges online. Is that possible? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.28.120.22 (talk) 17:03, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

80.28.120.22, I think there's enough preliminary reviews like PC Gamer and RPGFan so I went ahead and put it into mainspace. However, the COI tag will still be there until other editors have added more neutral reviews of the product. See WP:PROUD. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:09, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:ExOne Company

Hello sir, thank you for the details about the ExOne entry. I have added additional citations from Wall Street Journal and USA Today. I have also removed the historic product list, which was provided as timeline reference to back up facts regarding ExOne commercializing binder jetting technology for sand and metal 3D printing. Can you kindly reconsider the resubmitted entry? This is a historically relevant 3D printing company, and the sourcing, especially the cited engineering books, does back up that fact.Sarahannwebster (talk) 10:46, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarahannwebster, I'm concerned though that there may be some COI especially for the EnvisionTEC article, where you should probably self-disclose your connection to the subject. As for ExOne, is it a competitor or partnering company? That might have to have a COI declared as well. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:27, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the question, but I don't really have a conflict here, other than wanting facts to be correct. :) I used to work for EnvisionTEC when I occasionally updated their content on Wikipedia. While I currently am not employed by ExOne, and also not being paid by them for this, I used to be the editor in chief for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahannwebster/) and noticed ExOne had no entry and other entities were acting like they invented some technology that ExOne commercialized a very long time ago. If there was some way to disclose my relationship with EnvisionTEC when editing incorrect fact, I wasn't aware of it. I am not being paid in any way for the ExOne content and am happy to disclose that. Kindly let me know if there's some official way to disclose as I don't recall seeing any prompts along those lines. Sarahannwebster (talk) 19:43, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also just noticed your question about ExOne and EnvisionTEC ... I don't work for either one of them so I don't know if they have any relationship but I doubt it. Sarahannwebster (talk) 19:49, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarahannwebster, okay, thanks for disclosing. I put in the connected contributor tags on those articles' talk pages. There's an icon called {{UserboxCOI}} you can add to your user page, so you can do that for EnvisionTEC and SME (society). AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:02, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I'm still trying to get used to the Wikipedia world. Trying to do it all correctly here. Learning as a I go ... Sarahannwebster (talk) 20:18, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I added the COI box to my user page and am not sure I did it correctly? If you have a moment and could let me know, I would very much appreciate it. Should I put dates for when I was associated with those entities, since I am no longer? Sarahannwebster (talk) 20:26, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarahannwebster, thanks, I fixed it a bit, but that should be good enough. The years aren't needed. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:38, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there again. This article just got rejected by another reviewer for having *too many* citations. I had added more citations (from WSJ, USA Today, etc.) after you asked for more reliable, independent citations. I'm a little confused now. I've asked the other reviewer for additional guidance, but if you could help, I would appreciate it. Best, Sarahannwebster (talk) 20:42, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarahannwebster, there's something called WP:THREE that the editors want when they feel like they see too many citations of passing mention quality. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:01, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have published a biography article on Sunny Shah, a Marathi movie producer. this article got deleted by one of the Wikipedia reviewer by saying that it was violating the norms of the Wikipedia. i need a help in correcting my article and want to know how to improve my referencing.

Ayushssengar (talk) 16:19, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ayushssengar, the draft reads like it is promoting or advertising the subject. He shouldn't be described with advertising words like "remarkable" or "great". AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:24, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article Review

I just removed promotional content. Do you still think it is promotional. If yes, can you please suggest me which sentance or part is promotional? Thank you for your help in advance. Talking about the page Ved Gupta. Expecting a reply from you. 180.151.239.150 (talk) 06:19, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

180.151.239.150, it is still very promotional. It needs to be rewritten from a neutral point of view. It seems to be about a person who founded a local study center business to prepare kids for college entrance exams. Does it matter how he performed in high school / college? If he is an academic, he needs to meet WP:NACADEMIC, and it is not clear he meets that. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 06:24, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Anisha & Nitesh

Ninnu1105, this still needs more news sources. TNT is one, but there needs to be other notable mainstream newspapers. Vibes Northeast and CatchNews are Q&A interview mainly / primary source. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 11:33, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Burn_Out_(2017_French_film)

Thornstrom, see if there are some reviews from the French magazines. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:33, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Sincere Engineer

Oh okay I’m starting to understand a bit more. Although regarding the “not more blogs and random podcast interviews” I did not realize I was using using random blogs. I’ll go back and double check, but if you have the time or if you could do me a favor and maybe point at which references are blogs, if you time is i noticed that you a lot of other people waiting on replies.

As for the bandcamp i guess that would fall under “notes” or “external links” and not references. I’m still trying to the gist of this. As for podcast they have been around for awhile but okay that makes sense. Also your comment has been one of the most helpful advice I’ve gotten so far. So many thanks User:AngusWOOF Humblemogwai (talk) 03:30, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thanks for the review of the page. I've modified it and about to resubmit, but I would like to hear first what you think of it before doing that. I appreciate the help. Leviungi (talk) 11:52, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Leviungi, can you add maybe a section on impact of Aces and Queens on the pageant industry. It appears they were the first to have the camp. You can indicate how other camps have surfaced because of their work. Also criticism and reception by the media? I'm trying to keep the article neutral in tone as opposed to be all good and happy promotional. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:47, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is great.Okay, I will include impact. I'm not sure if I can draw a connection between the two big beauty camps with the rise of other boot camps too. Most of them don't get as much news but I'll try to check sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leviungi (talkcontribs) 12:13, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I already added impact with your suggestion and I appreciate if you can review the changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leviungi (talkcontribs) 12:55, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Leviungi, this looks better. Thanks for balancing the views on it. I pushed it through. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 11:58, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Circuits (Chris Potter album)

Hello AngusWOOF, I am writing as you recently declined my draft article at this link - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Circuits_(Chris_Potter_album) - pointing out that critical reviews were required. In response to this I would note that no review included in the Wikipedia article of any of Chris Potter's albums has given a score of less than 3 stars; in this instance I can find no reviews of 'Circuits' awarding a score of less than four stars. I would not, for example, expect the article for Miles Davis' album 'Kind of Blue' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kind_of_Blue) to be declined or accused of POV bias simply because all the reviews are extremely positive.

Furthermore, the difficulty I have encountered in getting my draft published has been somewhat unexpected given that every previous Chris Potter studio release has its own article here on Wikipedia and some of the articles (such as this one - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Will_Be_(album)) are notably less comprehensive than my draft.

Many thanks. --Marmaduke Merriweather (talk) 16:36, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Marmaduke Merriweather, if critics are giving the album 4 of 5 stars, why aren't they giving the 5th star? It could be one slight critique, just need to show that aspect. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:00, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, thank you for your response. I'm afraid that in this case, as with many 4 star reviews, the reviews in question are positive throughout (they might not award the 5th star simply because, although there may be nothing inherently wrong with the album, it is not especially outstanding). To once again reference the articles of previous Chris Potter releases, I would observe that here (and in other cases) - The Dreamer Is the Dream - when citing 4 star reviews, the author includes only positive comments.
Many thanks.

Chief Accessibility Officer

Hey Angus..

It's not just a Canadian thing, that was just an example. I've tried to clarify that a bit.

I'm not sure what other references you are looking for. I think I added more since you looked. Can you give me hints of what else I should do here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mgifford (talkcontribs) 20:24, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mgifford, is there an origin as to how the term came about? Who coined it, and how widespread has it become for the position? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:54, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Mgifford, for example, Chief visionary officer mentions the first person and term to use the term CVO. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:58, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mgifford, I went ahead and pushed it through. It has enough news articles for it to be a notable position. Please add more history as to when the term first came about, like whether it was because of the C-Suite trend. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:39, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Andrijpetrenko, you could discuss that at the Kiev talk page as to what spelling is primary topic for English Wikipedia, but looking at that talk page, there is already consensus to go with Kiev instead of Kyiv. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:11, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

X/9. Romanization of Ukrainian geographical names

The Conference, Recognizing that in 2010 Ukraine officially adopted a system of romanization for geographical names, which revised a system used since 1996, Recognizing also that, although not fully reversible, the system has nevertheless been well implemented in maps, gazetteers and databases of Ukraine, as well as on public signs and in spheres of life other than those concerning geographical names,

Recommends that the system, as set out in the document entitled “Romanization system in Ukraine”,7 be adopted as the international system for the romanization of Ukrainian geographical names.

Andrijpetrenko (talk) 08:58, 13 July 2019 (UTC) Have also done a google search for "London to Kiev". Interesting google flights and skyscanner listed Kyiv for that Kiev search. The map that came up for me showed Kyiv spelling also for that "London to Kiev" search. Others will catch on eventually to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names Kyiv which came into effect on June 17. The writer of the wiki Kiev article has made his case for not changing the spelling which is not consistent with the changes already occurring. I am learning to write english wikipedia page. My intention was never to advertise. As reviewer's give me the advice I make the changes accordingly. You may check the history of this page. Previous reviewer asked me for more references, so I added those by lot of hard work. Now, to remove the advertisement (as you see it if any) can you guide me with some example of sentence from the page with change in it. I will make those types of changes to whole page. I have no intent to advertise anyone. So, I can also remove the sentences which you feel are advertising (please tell them specifically). The subject of the page is notable because its marathi language wikipedia already exists and is also included in wikidata. Please inform and guide. Thanks for the review. MA$HRVA(Talk) Write Right!! 19:06, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MA$HRVA, it still reads like you're trying to say how great the person is with the words chosen, saying how he is "innovative", "pioneer record setter", "strong instinct developed in his mind to do something good", "completely devoted", "worked selflessly", "his eco-innovations are useful", "innovation galore", "he gave the solution of", " first Indian to make a hattrick of world records". This is all words that are showing how great he is, and the verbiage only shows that that he amasses a bunch of random world records such as coin stacking or shortest will, that have nothing to do with his primary field. This needs a fundamental rewrite from a perspective of someone who isn't a fan of the person. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:03, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
MA$HRVA, the other thing I was asking is for three of the best representative sources for this person. Please see WP:THREE, and you can list those on top of the article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:05, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr. Sussman had a wikipedia displayed for years and someone deleted it, so I am trying to reinstate it. He recently published a new book "Boxing and the Mob," which is getting excellent reviews. There are reliable sources listed, he has been mentioned in the NY Times, and wrote the book "No Mere Bagatelles" which is the authorized biography of Judith and Gerson Leiber. I just added 3 WMP sources, 2 from people magazine, and some NY Times articles. Mr. Sussman was longtime friend and associate of the Leibers, [who are both prominent figures in art and fashion history, and both have wikipedia pages.

Draft:OAV Air Bearings

Hey AngusWoof, you've declined my article, OAV Air Bearings and listed the reason as an insufficient amount of news sources. The sources that are on the article include a paper magazine, 3 news articles, and a blog along with the company website. There are more sources that I can include, however adding more sources then what is already there would be detrimental to the flow of the article, meaning the article would sound choppy with facts that don't have a relevant connection to the history section of my article. I would love to hear more of your feedback as well as how I could potentially get this article on Wikipedia and accepted as a verified article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Breezekovy (talkcontribs) 18:41, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Breezekovy, Happening to see this request: first, there are no sources that qualify as references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements . Hi AngusWOOF, my article for a film distribution company was recently rejected by you I think based mainly on the sources I used. [4] I'm wondering if you could tell me which sources I used you consider "independent" and which you don't. I read through the Wikipedia articles on the subject but I'm still having trouble determining which ones I used are or are not. Or is the issue simply that there aren't enough sources? Good afternoon!

Thank you for your feedback on this initial draft. Before revising, I was hoping for a little further guidance, so I had some questions/comments pertaining to the feedback you provided. Thanks in advance for your time. The first is to your point that "Music Row" isn't a notable chart. While agreed, it's certainly not "Billboard", however, it is still a very highly coveted chart, actively worked in the country music genre by the same A list artists that sit atop the other larger charts, aforementioned. In other words, it's not just for any musician with a song. It requires some substantial notability to be considered and included in the top 200 of the US. Wondering if there is any room for reconsideration here.

The second comment I was looking for a little clarification on was the one about this section, "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Several of the 12 listed references are full articles, very few, if any, just "passing mentions". In fact, one in particular is the entire front page of the 3rd party newspaper, electronic and hard copy print. There are also several major TV affiliate news channel on-air interviews referenced as well, including WCNC and WMBF, both NBC affiliates in NC and SC, respectively. Also included are major awards, and exclusive event inclusion (CCMF) etc. Would these not sufficiently show 3rd party notability and validation? Thanks again for your assistance, as I'm a fairly new blogger and contributor to the Wiki community.2600:1700:C740:97B0:7961:5423:1E24:123D (talk) 19:56, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[NEW] Concerning your rejection of my draft, Pound (restaurant)

So you said that my article seemed to be a failure because it seems like the product of a run-of-the-mill thing. You said that it was that. I’ve found a source of international origin, specifically this one.

What I mean

[1]

I also have proof that this is international. They did reviews of things in Bali, Shanghai, and even more. However, the email seems really Manila but I have reason to believe that whoever owns that website lives in someplace like Malaysia. Generally, this website does reviews for SEA.

Regarding Raymond J. Chambers

Dear Editor, I have reviewed your comments, which I know are well intended, but they have left me puzzled. The 30 references that I have given in the article refer to papers published in Financial Times top 50 journals, all of which are of the highest standard and considered as the basis for tenure decisions at major T1 universities in the United States (i.e. the acceptance rate for articles in these journals is around one percent). The books that I have cited are widely held (some appear in over 1,000 university libraries in the United States according to WorldCat.com). In addition, I have made references to Chambers' American Accounting Association's Accounting Hall of Fame Induction, which represents the highest honor any academic accounting can achieve. The selection is made by the AAA's 4,000 members and a panel of the most esteemed academics in our discipline, with has representatives from several Ivy league universities. The Wikipedia entry for the Accounting Hall of Fame reads:

"Selection to The Accounting Hall of Fame is intended to honor and recognize distinguished service and contributions to the progress of accounting in any of its various fields. Evidence of such service includes contributions to accounting research and literature, significant service to professional accounting organizations, wide recognition as an authority in some field of accounting, advancement of accounting education, and public service. A member must have reached a position of eminence from which the nature of his or her contributions may be established."

It should be noted that almost all Accounting Hall of Fame recipients have a Wikipedia entry already, and all of them have less citations and much less information than the current one under review. Consider, as an example, the following one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_J._Ball

Ray Ball's profile has three citations, two of which is the Accounting Hall of Fame.

It is therefore my understanding that Chambers meets the following criteria as you have outlined under WP:NACADEMIC:

"Criteria: The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the IEEE).[2]" — Preceding unsigned comment added by M.E.Persson (talkcontribs) 13:18, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, Chambers was inducted into the Order of Australia. The Wikipedia entry for this reads:

The Order of Australia is an order of chivalry established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, to recognise Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or meritorious service. Before the establishment of the order, Australian citizens received British honours. The Queen of Australia is Sovereign Head of the Order,[2] while the Governor-General is Principal Companion/Dame/Knight (as relevant at the time) and Chancellor of the Order. The Governor-General's Official Secretary, currently Paul Singer, is Secretary of the Order.

Would you please consider my request in earnest. My professional life has been dedicated to honor those that have contributed to the development of accounting thought, and I feel considerable distress that Raymond J. Chambers is being deprived of an entry unlike almost all of his peers. Please feel free to reach out below as well.

M.E.Persson, thanks for your feedback on Chambers. I will ask the other editors to help scrub this for tone. Much of the wording portrays him in a glowing positive light about how he accomplished many things so I marked it for too many primary sources WP:PRIMARY (his own works) and possible bias as it was written by his peers / colleagues as conflict of interest WP:COI. M.E.Persson, I went ahead and accepted the article. I saw a ton of academic biographies from journals, showing he meets Academic for chair. Hopefully other editors can scrub it for tone and that it can be rewritten with a neutral point of view. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:04, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for this AngusWOOF. I really appreciate that you've taken the time to attend this so quickly. I can't imagine all the work involved with Wiki. I'm going to review the entry myself as soon as I can and scrub some of the language as suggested. I think some of it was added in response to the first editor, which seemed to imply that Chambers was not important enough. But your edit was much more helpful in directing me to the criteria for recognizing academics on Wikipedia. With very best wishes,

Draft: Efficient Voter Rule

Dear AngusWOOF, In March you suggested adding more justification for the topic, pruning, and diminishing the mentions of Anderson. In May I inserted motivation for the importance of this rule, cut items, and removed mentions of Anderson (except in the references). I'm hoping this is just what you wanted. Please let me know if problems remain. Thanks kindly. DiScience (talk) 19:13, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
