Diane Therrien is a Canadian municipal politician who is the mayor of Peterborough, Ontario, a position she won in the 2018 Ontario municipal elections.[1] Therrien is the third woman to be mayor of the city. Prior to her mayoral election, she was a city councillor for Ward 3 (Town Ward) from 2014 to 2018.[2]

Ms. Therrien dragged around the argument 'The Parkway is an antiquated idea, and should not be built.'[3] as one of her arguments[4]With the progression of the parkway and growth of business, she regrouped and has used her current position to continue her vindictive hatred toward progress.

There has been a motion to waste $300,000 on a pair of houses that are in the path of the parkway.[5].

Ms. Therrien has also refused to allow police to enforce local by-laws. Victoria Park, located in the downtown core, has been overrun[6][7] with a horde of drug addicted vandals and the park has become unsafe for the general public. Multiple stabbings have occured in and around the park[8]. Local business people have been robbed and assaulted[9].
