Article restructuring
Hi, I'm User:Hmanck and I was behind the article revamp for the Chennai Mass Rapid Transit System. As you can tell, it's a big work in progress right now. The reason why I came over here is to the do the same thing for what I did over there: fix it up and make logistical connections when necessary.
What I have done so far:
- History section has been put together in one section
- Isolated out several sections such as fares
- Added "Rolling stock" and "Future"
- Corrections regarding proper capitalisation conventions and usage as per Wikipedia policy: nouns are not capitalised, except in the beginning of the word. Proper nouns are capitalised. Only the first letter of the first word is capitalised for the titles and headings, except for proper nouns. I will make these changes when necessary.
- Corridor -> line, that is the usual convention for most rapid transit systems
One thing, avoid abbreviations/acronyms. Unless the subject matter is mentioned first in its full form with abbreviations introduced in brackets, do not used abbreviations. This goes especially for maps and titles. H-Man (talk) 21:56, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

For File:Chennai_Metro_Logo.jpg, is it necessary to have both the first and the third copyright notice? They are basically identical. Also, are they correct? It seems to me this image would not fall under those copyright notices. In the Chennai Metro Phase I template, should Chamiers Road be Nandanam? In general are both of those images up to date? They don't seem to match. For File:Chennai_Rail.png, the source link is broken, so I cannot check the licensing.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment. |
I keep meaning to start on this, so I am going to get the review kicked off and will provide comments over the next couple of days. Kees08 (talk) 06:58, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
General: Number of stations in the infobox says 13 operations and 42 phase I. The intro says Phase I is operational; does that mean it should be 55 operational? Same goes for other Phase I things in infobox.
Officially on hold. There are quite a few changes. Upon completion of those changes, I'll run through it again to make sure we caught everything. Let me know if any of the above is unreasonable. Thanks! Kees08 (talk) 20:11, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- Kees08, Thanks for taking up the review. Will make the changes in a phased manner. Magentic Manifestations (talk) 06:01, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
@Magentic Manifestations: The review is complete. Let me know if you have any qualms with the above. Thanks! Kees08 (talk) 04:26, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
@Magentic Manifestations: I am going to fail this for now, but I encourage you to address the above, resubmit, and ping me. I will pick it up right away so you do not have to wait months again. I would highly recommend having the guild of copy editors go through this article. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, thanks! It is a very good article overall, we just have to shore up the few things noted above. Kees08 (talk) 17:17, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
