Edith Clements

  • ... that novelist Willa Cather said she would rather have produced one of the books coauthored by botanist Edith Clements (illustration pictured) than all of her own?
  • ALT1:... that botanist and ecologist Edith Clements published a memoir at the age of eighty-six about the half million miles she estimated she had traveled in her long career?
  • ALT2:... that botanist and ecologist Edith Clements illustrated most of her own books (illustration pictured)?
  • Comment: Image is probably only suitable for ALT2. Unfortunately, the photo of Clements on her page is fair use. Also, I have fewer than 5 DYK nominations.

  • I prefer ALT2 but whoever's moving this to prep can decide. New enough, long enough, cited, no copyvio found, image is free, hook fact is cited directly, no QPQ needed, good to go. Keilana (talk) 06:31, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
  • None of the hooks have a bolded article link, an absolute requirement for DYK hooks, and ALT1 has "eight-six". Also, if the picture is to be used, a form of "(pictured)" needs to be included in the appropriate hooks, perhaps "(illustration pictured)", which could be used in ALT2 and maybe the original hook as well. Keilana, can you please recheck and fix as appropriate? Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:04, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
@BlueMoonset: Damn, this is what I get for doing DYK reviews at 2 AM. "Eight-six" definitely made sense to me then... I've fixed the bolding/pictured/eighty-six issues. Keilana (talk) 16:42, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Fwiw, I prefer the original hook. — LlywelynII 17:13, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
