Conflict of interest noticeboard reporting

Hello. Please give editors an opportunity to respond to talk page notices first before reporting them to WP:COIN. As noted in the Additional notes section at the top of the notice board, "This page should only be used when ordinary talk page discussion has been attempted and failed to resolve the issue, such as when an editor has repeatedly added problematic material over an extended period." Thanks. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:06, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for letting me know and sorry for the mess. --DoebLoggs (talk) 06:30, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

ETSI is a not for profit organization making standards. As I'm from ETSI, I do not violate any copyright, can you please remove this from the NFV page and let me update it again? thank you Claireboyer (talk) 13:32, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Claireboyer[reply]

Hello @Claireboyer: thanks for reaching out. There are a couple of problems with your edits: 1) the text you added at Network function virtualization is copy-pasted from here, and as you can see there is a clear copyright notice ("© Copyright 2019, ETSI"). Pasting copyrigthed material to wikipedia pages is not allowed. 2) As you amits here above, you are from ETSI and therefore you are in a position that implies a conflict of interests. You are invited to carefully read the notes included in the welcome messages I left on your talkpage where you will find the instructions to regularize your position and how you can keep on contributing to the articles where you have a COI issue. Regards and happy editing, DoebLoggs (talk) 09:08, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, will do. Claireboyer (talk) 09:25, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Claireboyer[reply]

Reversion on Clobazam

Hi DoebLoggs, you reverted a couple of edits I made to the Clobazam article (providing an explanation of the Onfi redirect). I have put a note on the talk page there if you could take a look. 212.20.255.146 (talk) 12:11, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Allopregnanolone

I'm not sure why you keep changing the allopregnanolone page. Allopregnanolone is NOT known as brexanolone (this is a Sage Pharmaceuticals designation, as is Zulresso. Let's keep WIKI accurate and not have it serve as an advertising platform.

Allopregnanolone Changes

Brexanolone (Zulresso) is used by Sage Pharmaceuticals in the same way duloxetine (Cymbalta) is used by Eli Lilly. These are "trade" names for their development products. Allopregnanolone has been known and studied for decades, and referred to as: allopregnanolone, 3alpha, 5alpha THP, etc. The name Brexanolone originates with Sage, not with the scientific community. Also, FYI

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Sonic Racing. Since you had some involvement with the Sonic Racing redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. —37.42.13.167 (talk) 14:35, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Regarding the user "Topbestpeople"

Hi Doeb! I just saw that you reported Topbestpeople (talk · contribs) on WP:AIV. I went through the the edits, and it seems pretty evident to me that we have an LTA or a mass sockpuppeter on our hands. I wanted to ask you if you have any idea as to if the reported user is a sock, and if it, whose it is. Thanks! -- JavaHurricane 12:58, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @JavaHurricane: to be honest I have no idea. What makes you think this user is a sock? --DoebLoggs (talk) 13:02, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The edit summary of the second edit, which suggests we could be having the sockpuppet of an old troll. Though, of course, it is possible it is one of the normal vandals acting smart. Thanks anyways! -- JavaHurricane 13:05, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chromolaena odorata

Can you explain why you reverted my edit? I am trying to help Wikipedia and improving this page. 117.204.122.182 (talk) 16:04, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@117.204.122.182: Thank you for reaching out. You are right, your edit is at least partially good and I will reinstate it. I've been misled because I've seen the text in malayam and considered it inappropriate. I apologize for my mistake and thank you for signalling it. --DoebLoggs (talk) 09:38, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you specify which aspects of the 'vandalism' and 'limits on acceptable additions' are applicable? I can't see anything obviously relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C5:DA0E:CC00:1174:C403:1B5F:3BD2 (talk) 15:50, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not true information about Anne-Marie

Hello, I saw that some people edit article about Anne-Marie and they're adding not true information about 5G. I saw that you edited it not a long time ago. What I want to say is that this article about 5G in which writes that Anne-Marie said that, is fake. I can say you how it was : Anne-Marie tweeted something about 5G, but there wasn't anything about that coronavirus is caused by 5G. Then one person tweeted that she said that, even when she didn't. Not a long time later, someone wrote article about this. But as you can see now, she has never said something like that. As I like her music, I don't want anyone to destroy her reputation by saying such a fake things! So please, look at her twitter and you will see that this is fake. If you delete this information from her Wikipedia page, then thank you. Agaxx123 (talk) 11:45, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jani Allan

Hi. I noticed this. Are you aware of WP:DAILYMAIL? Did you get a warning when you restored the dodgy tabloid material to the BLP? Do you still think this is a good source? --84.64.251.19 (talk) 00:22, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 84.64.251.19, thanks for reaching me out. I re-read the edit I reverted and to be honest I see no problem with the paragraph I reinstated:
Following Terre'Blanche's murder in April 2010 she was hounded by the international press for an interview. Eventually she gave a full length interview to Britain's Daily Mail. == This is a fact, we have a reference to the interview.
The interview was also republished in all Independent Online titles across South Africa. == this is a fact also, I checked and found that.
She said in the interview that she was writing her memoirs == this is a fact, she did it.
and that she works as a restaurant hostess in Lambertville, New Jersey. == this also seems to be true, and in any case seems to be of minor importance, feel free to remove this last sentence if you want.
As concerns the reliability of the Daily Mail as a source, you may want to remove it if you think it is the case, but why should we remove the related paragraph when it is not controversial and factually true?
Cheers and happy editing

I noticed you restored the clumsy language and the link to the source from a far-right wing website. Do you care to explain?
