WEEK2 / EVALUATE ARTICLE / Dyy122dyy
1.After completing the training courses, I learn how to evaluate an article. I find the pros and cons of my article. The article is detailed but somehow not updated. Doing such work is easy, but fun. The article I read is "lakers" because I'm a huge basketball fan. 2.The link to the article is : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_Lakers . 3.The evaluation link is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dyy122dyy/Evaluate_an_Article Dyy122dyy (talk) 15:55, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

Week 4 / Add a Citation to One Article / 八路军被服厂李厂长
The article I used for this article is talking about the biggest Fintech company in China---Ant Group. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_Group
The passage didn't mention why it can gather so much wealth from its services. Then I cite in couple sentences and added one peer-reviewed article from my research. Here is the link for the difference. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ant_Group&diff=prev&oldid=981500292
What i learned from this is never to trust on wikipedia...... Sometimes their information aren't specific and not valuable at all..... And they do revert whatever you did :( sad for me. 八路军被服厂李厂长 (talk) 18:12, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- 八路军被服厂李厂长, Your citation was reverted; can you find a better place in the article for this to go? Ping me here when you add it someplace more fitting. FULBERT (talk) 22:15, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

WEEK4 / ADDING CITATION / dyy122dyy
1. The article I read is Confucius. The journal I read talks about Confucius's political attitude. "Ren" is the idea provided by Confucius. 2. The link to the difference is: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Confucius&type=revision&diff=981635437&oldid=980984464 3. This work is challenging but fun. I have to carefully and rationally read the articles and find the plague definition that needs to be explained more thoroughly. After finding the plague information, I read many journals that explain the definition. Dyy122dyy (talk) 15:05, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
- Dyy122dyy, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. Also, I see your edit was reverted. Reply here about your thoughts related to this, and you will be current then. FULBERT (talk) 22:24, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- FULBERT, I have already assigned myself the article in wiki edu dashboard. WIKI said the idea "ren" was mentioned above, but "ren" is a political idea which is better to be mentioned in the section of "politics" and explained in here. If the edit was reverted, do I need to do a new citation? Also, I find my week 3 post was missing and I don't know why. Dyy122dyy (talk) 22:36, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Dyy122dyy, Good explanation that may not have been clear to that other editor. This is fine for now. Current. FULBERT (talk) 19:58, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 4 / Add a Citation to One Article / Bbbzhu
The article I edited this week is Augmented Reality. I included a citation to one of the arguments already in the article to support it. It is about the use of augmented reality in museums and art galleries. Here's the difference [link].
I learned about the importance of using quality sources and what counts as a quality source. Also, how to paraphrase the source to be inserted as a reference to a Wikipedia article. --Bbbzhu (talk) 04:17, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Bbbzhu, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 22:20, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 4 / Add a Citation to One Article / 燕京赵大知识分子
Since I am interested in some finance theories, I found an article talking about time value of money as a theory which could benefit investors. The article explains it well but lacks sufficient citation to support, so I searched online and found a credible source which explains this theory in a very similar fashion. Here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rate_of_return&diff=982088013&oldid=980105037
I learned that even for mature theory, adding a citation can better support your point, and let readers have more space to expand on the topic. 燕京赵大知识分子 (talk) 03:25, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- 燕京赵大知识分子, Nice initial edit. Current. FULBERT (talk) 12:13, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 2/Evaluate an article/Forza spurs
I selected the article introducing Christian Abbiati, who is a former AC MILAN player. I am a fan of Milan as well as Abbiati himself. Here is the link of the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Abbiati. After my evaluation, I believe that there should be a citation to explain an event in his career and the following is the link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Christian_Abbiati&diff=982152533&oldid=979300979. In the process of evaluation, I realized that when we are assessing an article, many aspects need to be taken into consideration, especially the sources of information must be reliable. Besides, I found that the tools provided by Wiki are very useful.Forza spurs (talk) 13:33, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 2 / Evaluate an Article / lipute17
I assigned myself "Men in Black (film series)" to edit. I was a big fan of the movie series when I was a a kid. I have watched the series at least ten times. I think this is really a great opportunity for me to contribute to the movie series that I really like, and make more people to be familiar with the movie setups.

Week3 / Copyedit an Article / lipute17
I perform some minor gramma modifications towards the article "backpropagation" to make it more easy to read and understand.
I have learned that for scientific articles, it is very important to not only let the material very precise, but also make it readable to people. It is very necessary to make the concept straight forward that even people without background knowledge can also understand. Lipute17 (talk) 22:25, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- Lipute17, Please remember to sign each of your posts using four tilde characters ~~~~ at the end. Do this as a reply and then ping me here, and then I will take a look at it and reply. --FULBERT (talk) 22:16, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 4/ Add a Citation to One Article/ Haomimimi
1. The article that I edit is Green Tax. I find that there is barely explanation of this concept about what it is, so I add the explanation. And here is the link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_tax#
2. The link to the difference is: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Carbon_tax&type=revision&diff=982214505&oldid=981634730
3. What I learned is that when we explain a concept, it is more important to introduce what it is and the background, and its meaning. Then it would be much easy to understand. Haomimimi (talk) 20:24, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- FULBERT This is my Week 4 HW.
- Haomimimi, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 22:17, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 4/Add a citation to one article/Forza spurs
The article to which I chose to add a citation is the article introducing Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáenz de la Torre(known as suso), who isa professional soccer player. The link to the article is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suso_(footballer)#Club_career. In addition, the link to diff is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Suso_(footballer)&diff=982323974&oldid=981292318. In this process, I learned that although sometimes an article in WIKE seems complete and detailed, it is still possible to find some contents that have not been expalined deeply enough.Forza spurs (talk) 13:16, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- Forza spurs, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 20:20, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 5/Add a citation and contribute to one article/Forza spurs
I added a citation to an article introducing Fabricio Oberto who is a former NBA player. The citation I added can give readers more detailed statistics and make a complement to the content about his rookie year in NBA. The following is the link to the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabricio_Oberto#NBA_career. In addition, here is the link to diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fabricio_Oberto&diff=982328680&oldid=954702775. After this assignment, I looked back to the defnition "content gap" learned during previous weeks and I have realized that it is quite important to remdy this kind of gap.Forza spurs (talk) 14:03, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- Forza spurs, Please assign yourself this article in the Wiki Edu Dashboard and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 20:20, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / JS11323
The article I chose is called "Manatee" and this is my favorite species. The citation I added can provide the close relatives of the manatee. The following is the link to the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manatee. Here is the link of difference between revisions: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Manatee&type=revision&diff=982581943&oldid=981578742. After doing this assignment, I knew more about how to add citations in an article, and I knew more what is called "content gap", which is useful for me. --Js11323 (talk) 01:39, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- Js11323, Your edit was reverted in less than an hour; wow, that was fast! I would have reverted your edit due to its not being a high-level, objective source, but overall good enough for this assignment. Current. FULBERT (talk) 16:24, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / 燕京赵大知识分子
I added a citation to the article to better explain the definition and background of the theory of undervalued stock. The citation from Investopedia explains it well to readers with both financial and non-financial backgrounds.
Here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Undervalued_stock&type=revision&diff=982602029&oldid=944827142
Here is the article link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undervalued_stock
I learned that it is useful to add a citation to a concept's definition no matter if the author is familiar with it. This way readers can extend their reading and connect to the explanation the author makes. 燕京赵大知识分子 (talk) 05:08, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- 燕京赵大知识分子, OK citation, though you did not add anything else of content to this article, which was part of the assignment, "lso include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Please add and ping me here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 16:40, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- FULBERT, I have added the content for explaining the value of the undervalued stock compared with the true market value, hopefully reader can gain more insight about this. 燕京赵大知识分子 (talk) 12:37, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 4 / Add a Citation to One Article / Lipute17
The article I viewed this week is "Denial-of-service attack", which is a form of cyber attack that is widely performed nowadays. I notice that a very popular used defense technique "DDS" do not have any references, so I dig in and added some citations.
The link to my modification is:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Denial-of-service_attack&diff=982727684&oldid=982658401
From this week's material I learned how to add reference into articles. Reference is very essential because it increase the creditability of the article and makes it more convincing.Lipute17 (talk) 23:30, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- Lipute17, I undid your change as you did not use a high quality source for your edit, you used a company page. Please find a high quality source for your claim and re-add. Ping me here when done. FULBERT (talk) 17:50, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- FULBERT,Sorry for that, I used another source this time. here is my new link. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Denial-of-service_attack&diff=983040792&oldid=983005206. Lipute17 (talk) 21:59, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / lipute17
The article I assigned myself this week is Frontier Communication, a large telecommunication company that recently just file for bankruptcy. I notice that the article hardly updated the information for the bankruptcy, so I added some more information to the page.
The diff link : https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Frontier_Communications&diff=982730527&oldid=980106590
I feel very good in contribute to the article to make it up to date. I believe the process is very meaningful because the society is changing rapidly, Old information may be inaccurate over night. It is very necessary to update the message on wiki to prevent misleading. Lipute17 (talk) 23:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / 八路军被服厂李厂长
This week, I had review my studies about option market, just curiosity about what does the wiki reviews on call options. So I find this article and add one great resource to the page. This is a book wrote by an expert and he provide insights on the reality of the financial market, for those who had interests to the option market. I hope they can find this book to read for more details.
Here is the link to the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_option#Price_of_options Here is the link to the difference https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Call_option&type=revision&diff=982889183&oldid=972093745
What I learned from this week is that wiki sometimes not provide quality resources for reader to read, so if anyone want to quote form Wiki, I would suggest you quote form wiki's reference, and it is more useful.--八路军被服厂李厂长 (talk) 00:26, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

I have changed the unit for this sentence: "Other records include a 34-metre (112 ft) tower and a 4 km (2.5 mi) railway." because there are two numbers in one sentence, I think the unit should match with both. I have learned number is the best way to let review have a good understanding and be careful to use number. DetongChe (talk) 02:11, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

I have a Miniature Schnauzer, so I search this article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniature_Schnauzer) and I have never heard about "UK Kennel Club". Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / ywrhea
1. The summary of citation I added is that the contact effects generalize to other groups other than racial or ethnic groups. Under Allport's optimal contact conditions, the contact could lead to greater reduction in prejudice.
In the previous version, the last sentence of this section did not have reference. Therefore, I added specific source for it, which make the information in this article become more convincing. Also, readers will be able to traced the reference if they are interested on it.
2. The link to difference is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/982912285.
3. There are some contents in Wikipedia do not cite specific references, which cannot readily be traced to their sources. By providing reliable references can make wiki articles more convincing. Therefore, we should be more careful when we edit on Wikipedia. Ywrhea (talk) 03:58, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ywrhea, Per the assignment, please add more to "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when done and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 18:55, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

I chose Determinism as my article this week. I provide an extra reference to this article and point out Determinism is about interaction which affect our cognitive processes in our life. Here is the difference between the previous version and the current one.

@FULBERT: Sorry for my misunderstanding. CaptainJoseph (talk) 19:11, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- CaptainJoseph, OK, signed now fine, though I do not understand what you mean in your add on the article, "Determinism is about interaction which affect our cognitive processes in our life." Can you explain that a bit? It is not quite clear to me. The source itself is ok, this is only about what you meant. FULBERT (talk) 19:19, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
@FULBERT: Sure professor. It basically means that Determinism is about the cause and the result of what we have done in our life. Cause and result are always bounded together in our cognitive processes, so if we have sufficient information about a object we might predict every move of that object including human being. That is just A point of view of Determinism. CaptainJoseph (talk) 19:31, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / ShawnBoom

I choose an artist who comes from Japan, I have researched him when I take graphic design classes. Here's the article link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Murakami, and I added the citation link is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation. Since the "Animation Industry" did not have a good explanation in the article, so I added a sentence to the article. This is the link for difference between revisions: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Takashi_Murakami&type=revision&diff=982919994&oldid=981538443. Week4/Adding a citation to an article/Soymilkp20
For this week i add a source to an article(Lotion), it was about parabens. Also a small change of the article, i remove a word to make the sentence more readable. Here is the link:Link
For this assignment, i learned that the sources we provided need to be public, it block me for one because, the source can be only see for NYU students only. That was the reason why we mention in the class, we need public sources. Which i have a question for that, if some sources can been seen only by certain people, what is the point. I know we pay for it, but still. Soymilkp20 (talk) 17:17, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- Soymilkp20, I am not sure I understand what you mean about a source being public; sources in Wikipedia articles need to be of high quality. However, this source you added was to a partisan group, and as such I agree with the editor who removed it. Please find another, high-quality source and add to this or a different article. Ping me when done. FULBERT (talk) 19:04, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Again, i edited another article here is the link:History of basketball The reason why i choose to doing that is because some part of the article still needs expansion. Here is what i did:differ
I learn that if the article need more explanation, there is clear note for it, so if people really want to improve the article, that could be a start. That is the reason why i change the article. I want to make a change.

In this section, for the article [[Virtual reality sickness]] I contributed and cited more recent research in the section "Individual differences in susceptibility." Link to diff here. I learned that looking at the recency of the research is important for determining notability. There seems quite a bit of inconsistency in agreement among researchers as to whether gender/sex is a clear factor in the susceptibility of virtual reality sickness and the article did not represent that disagreement prior to my edit.

Week2/ Evaluate Article/ Martinmadison
I found an article talks about the Railway transit system and it primarily focuses on MTR, one of the most successful transit systems in the world. It's famous for its reliability and financial performance. In the part that talks about the revenue, the original article only talks about the investment from property holding. However, its ticket revenue also contributes a lot and has some great statistics compared to transit systems elsewhere.

Week 4 / Adding contents and a citation to the article/ Martinmadison
Link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Long-Term_Capital_Management&type=revision&diff=983018459&oldid=982572714
Summary of what I added: This part talked about why Long Term Capital Management failed even though they hired the best scientists to build the perfect model. The model is very ideal and powerful to solve problems, but it's not intelligent enough to recognize random or extreme events such as the financial crises. Also, LTCM was biased when selecting a data sample for the modeling work. Those two reasons illustrate how miscalculation being part of the reasons they failed.
What I learned: This assignment is more complicated compared to previous ones. Not only I needed to do research on the topic and provide good sources and citations, but also I need to double-check if there is already similar content available here or if there is a conflict. Overall it's a good practice. Martinmadison (talk) 19:34, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- Martinmadison, Good edit. Current. FULBERT (talk) 22:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Week2/ Evaluation/ Mavin2516
The article i evaluated was titled Business Informatics. The article turned out to be well structured with detailed introduction and body. The references were a bit outdated with since they were older than 5 years though the links provided were working. The link to my evaluation is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mavin2516/Evaluate_an_Article?preload=Template%3ADashboard.wikiedu.org_evaluate_article My edit version of the article link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_informatics The Evaluation process helped me realize how important it is to clearly structure your work for easy reading and understanding.Mavin2516 (talk) 19:36, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 5/ Add a citation to article/ Martinmadison
Link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Setback_%28architecture%29&type=revision&diff=983027883&oldid=968159182
The article talks about the setback policy in urban planning. I added a term called base height which is a crucial part of the policy based on the Zoning Glossary provided by the Department of City Planning (NYC). With the idea of base height, viewers can better understand the setback policy and how it works. Martinmadison (talk) 20:27, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 1/ Introduction/ LaurenZhou0509
Hi guys! This is Lauren Zhou. I am happy to meet you guys here in Wikipedia. Before came to NYC, I have spent several years in Chicago. I finished my undergraduate in UIUC. It is a beautiful place with interesting people. NYC is different from Chicago; it is busier but I enjoy the new environment. This is my second semester in NYU and hopefully we will spend a good time together! I started to use Wiki a long time ago but this is the first time I become an editor. The role changing makes me feel exited. Enjoy! — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaurenZhou0509 (talk • contribs) 00:48, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Please do the same with your other posts and reply to me on each one to review. FULBERT (talk) 22:13, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 5 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / Bbbzhu
This week I edited the playtest page. Here's the difference [[1]]. I included the role of playtesting in the process of video game development. Also included a very comprehensive systematic review of the subject as the citation, in case readers would like to know more. I found that although the concept is similar, the language to capture a concept can be different (a variant or slang) and result in different Wikipedia pages. Thus, making sure all variants are up to date and can be related to each other is important. --Bbbzhu (talk) 01:31, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 2 / Evaluation Article / LaurenZhou0509
1. I learned how to evaluate an article through this week's task. The guidelines and questions in every section make it easier for me to understand what is a good article and what an article should focus on when published. I choose "Case Closed" as my article since I am big fan to this series and I hope to evaluate something I am interested in. 2. The original link is here "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case_Closed" 3. My evaluation page is here "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:LaurenZhou0509/Evaluate_an_Article"
Week 3/ Copyedit to the Article / LaurenZhou0509
This week I edited the article "Case Closed: The Fourteenth Target". I added the "Staff" section to the article since staff is a key factor to an introduction page of a film. I also added the lyrics to the theme song. As a new editor, I feel it is important to have a critical view of the article. To find out what is missing and what should be improved. Here is the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case_Closed:_The_Fourteenth_Target Here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Case_Closed:_The_Fourteenth_Target&diff=prev&oldid=983069897 — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaurenZhou0509 (talk • contribs) 02:07, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 4/ Add citation for the article / LaurenZhou0509
In this week's task, I add soundtrack info foe the article "Case Closed: The Fourteenth Target". The original article is missing the soundtrack information. I add a citation for this section. Here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Case_Closed:_The_Fourteenth_Target&diff=prev&oldid=983072141
Week 5/ Add citation for the article / LaurenZhou0509
Same like last week, I choose another anime film work from Case Closed series, "Case Closed: The Last Wizard of the Century". I add a citation for the release result for the work. Here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Case_Closed:_The_Last_Wizard_of_the_Century&diff=prev&oldid=983073287 — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaurenZhou0509 (talk • contribs) 02:32, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
Week2 / Evaluate A Article / Jooookerr
Hi professor, I have selected [Game Design] as my article to evaluate. I learned from this training how to correctly and effectively modify the content in Wikipedia, and also know what parts of the content need to be concerned with and understood according to the guideline. In video game design, I added several official corresponding links for professional words, corrected some spelling errors and sentence tenses, and also modified some sentence format to make the whole sentence easier to understand. Week5/ Add a Citation to One Article/ Haomimimi
1. The article that I edited is an introduction of a Japanese author. I add some information of her family background that she was burned in a poor countryside. This information is important that all the articles she wrote is under the poor environment she experienced. And knowing the background could make readers understand her articles deeply. This is the article that I edit: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fumiko_Hayashi_(author)#Life_and_career
2. And here is the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fumiko_Hayashi_%28author%29&type=revision&diff=983314471&oldid=977013792
