The 2013 Novak Djokovic tennis season officially commenced on 31 December 2012 with the start of the 2013 ATP World Tour.

Yearly summary

Novak began his season at the 2013 Hopman Cup, representing Serbia alongside Ana Ivanovic. The two made it to the final, where they ultimately lost 2-1 to Spanish duo Anabel Medina Garrigues and Fernando Verdasco. Following two weeks of training, Djokovic entered the 2013 Australian Open as the two-time defending champion. He made it to the final after a 5-set epic fourth round match against Stanislas Wawrinka that lasted five hours, followed by relatively short quarterfinal and semifinal matches against Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer respectively. He met British 3rd seed Andy Murray in the final, whom he defeated in four sets to take his third straight title at Melbourne Park, the first man in the open era to do so.
