Ananas macrodontes is a plant species in the same genus as the pineapple, in the family Bromeliaceae. It is native to central South America (Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, northern Argentina).[1] The common name of the species is the false pineapple,[3] a name shared with the unrelated Pandanus kaida.[4]
