Alpha was an Italian free-to-air TV channel, owned by De Agostini. The channel broadcast shows related to motors, disasters, nature, crime, lifestyle, sports and history.

It launched on 1 October 2017 and it closed on 21 December 2019. It was available on channel 59.

History[edit]

The channel started its broadcast on 1 October 2017[1] replacing SplitTV.

The channel's advertising was managed first by Viacom International Media Networks Pubblicità & Brand Solutions[2], and from October 2018 by Sky Media.

From 6 November 2018 to 4 November 2019 the channel was also available on Sky Italia.

On 21 December 2019, the channel ended its broadcast, being replaced by Motor Trend.[3] However, its content continued to be posted on YouTube and its social media pages.[citation needed]
