  • How do you pronounce his name "Rainn"???
    • My guess is... Rain? -PopeJaimie
      • Based on the commentaries on the Season 2 DVD of the Office, it's "Rain"

Rainn Wilson owns and operates a working llama farm. His favorite llama is a 6 year old named Francis, who recently had a baby named Spartacus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.94.37.73 (talk) 14:39, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Schrute-Space

I think we need a citation on the bit about Rainn "blogging in character". It seems more likely that the blog is just written by a writer on the show. --Savethemooses 16:03, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have it from a very good source that Rainn writes every word of his blog, and he writes it on the computer on his desk during filming of The Office! And from what I've been able to gather, this is the first "in character" blog ever written. Dinkyhaven 14:05, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Dinkyhaven[reply]

GOB

In 2003, Wilson auditioned for the role of G.O.B. Bluth on the Fox series Arrested Development.[citation needed]

Could We Get A Better Picture

Could we please add a filmography here. That would bring it in line with most other actors.

Found permission for a new image from another user on Flickr, hopefully this one's better. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 22:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Family?

I'm doing a school project and I'd really appreciate more info about wilson's family tree.

like, is he related to anyone super famous? Does he have brothers or sisters? His mother has a sister who has 4 children and a brother with 2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9001:3B06:F300:6C47:6EAD:2009:A99 (talk) 11:48, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Soul Pancake

So Mr. Wilson has some big affiliation with the new website SOULD PANCAKE, according to the website:

"What does Rainn Wilson have to do with this?

Rainn Wilson is one of a handful of people spearheading SoulPancake. It's a collective vision and he sparked it."

I'm stiull learning about the website and will try to update his page with info about it soon, but if anyone has any detailed info please include it. It appears to be an open forum about spirituality and philosophical discussion. Again, Mr. Wilson is a large proponent of it but I can't find his "official" position with the website, if that makes any sense. Anyways, yeah he has something to do with it.

Also, this was first brought to my attention from Rainn's twitter feed.

Rainn would like everyone to know he runs a working Llama farm.76.84.87.249 (talk) 00:50, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life

Mr. Wilson enjoys helping the environment by operating a fully functioning lama farm where he practices in animal husbandry. Wilson has collected over 1,000 samples to ensure that female lamas are able to give birth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Einstein.sutherlandprice (talkcontribs) 01:06, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note that this tweet asked his followers to edit Wikipedia, saying he runs a llama farm. Thus all the above edits. -- Zanimum (talk) 01:09, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rainn Wilson and family have operated a working Llama farm since 1847. They do not run an illegal Alpaca mill as reported on TMZ. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.208.122.50 (talk) 01:24, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from Abarta115, 4 February 2011

{{edit semi-protected}} Please change the "personal life" section of Rainn Wilson's Wikipedia page to say that he runs a working llama farm. Rainn, himself, requested that this be added to his page. Whether it is true or not is beyond me, but it came from the man so I think it deserves it's place in here. If you would like a source, please see Rainn's twitter page, @rainnwilson. The tweet was made at approximately 7:00pm central time on February 3, 2011. I hope you strongly consider adding this information to his page. It would be greatly appreciated.

Baha'i faith

he did a recent conversational/educational piece on the Baha'i faith, explaining what he does as a Baha'i member. and I was pretty surprised to hear about it. is his religion not noted here because it's not relevant, or because he's not open about it? Name change

A handful of edits have come in trying to change Rainn Wilson's name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson, per this article from Variety. However, the article clearly states:

"Wilson, a board member of Arctic Basecamp, changed his name via a website called Arctic Risk Name Generator which encourages visitors to become an “Arctic name changer.” Although Wilson said of his name change “This is not a joke,” it is unclear whether the actor and activist plans to officially change his name on government documents."

So it is not an official name change, just a way to protest climate change. His name, for all intents and purposes, is still Rainn Wilson and I believe should be kept as such.

Thoughts?

Of course you're right and it should go back to Rainn Wilson. But this is wikipedia you're asking this on and, well, good luck. 162.221.219.36 (talk) 18:15, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also so far all the coverage I've seen say something like Rainn Wilson changes name to "Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson" which doesn't support. I reverted once, partly, since I hadn't seen the news/notice the reference since the change I reverted was just the name and not re-adding the ref. I feel like at this time it should be mentioned in the lead paragraph but the name itself and infobox should not be changed at this time. Skynxnex (talk) 20:25, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Despite the title, the article is about the fact that he changed his name on his social media profiles. Unless we have a source that says he legally changed his name, we should not change the bolded name in the first sentence of the article. I think it would be appropriate to include a sentence in the "Personal Life" section that describes his other activism. The lede should stick to discussing what he's known for, which is acting, comedy, writing, etc. Jake Wartenberg (talk) 21:47, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
