Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). Image for Tellus Audio

Hello A Train

I am the archivist for Joseph Nechvatal. Someone we do not know created a fine page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tellus_Audio_Cassette_Magazine on a project Dr. Nechvatal launched in 1983 called Tellus Audio Cassette Magazine. I added some hyperlinks in the text and cleaned up the authors English slightly. Dr, Nechvatal confirmed the validity of the information. My question is: would you like a logo image from the Tellus project that Dr, Nechvatal created? I am not allowed to upload images. Dr. Nechvatal sent it to my computer with full permission to post it (It is already on the web). Please advise.

Also, perhaps you would like to remove the 2 headers at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tellus_Audio_Cassette_Magazine

Thank you

Great Disappointment

Actually I can explain it. I was looking at the difference of your last edit, then I hit "edit" to make a minor rewording of something. For some reason it saved the old version (like a revert), but that was unintentional. I'm not sure how I made that mistake, but never mind now. Cuñado ☼ - Talk 05:32, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Given that Christianity is the most widespread religion, and represents one third of the world, it would not be too much to assume that a reader knows who Jesus is. When you consider that Muslims by definition also accept and recognize Jesus, that makes over one half of the world. A clear introduction would be needed for a religion like Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, but not Christianity. Likewise the Second Coming is common knowledge to anyone vaguely familiar with Christianity. This isn't a subject I care to debate over, so I'll just leave it as your last edit.
On the other subject, I thought it was important to say that the event didn't happen as expected, because 1) some went on to believe that the date was correct, but that it was a spiritual return, not the cataclysmic event that was assumed, 2) some believe that the date was correct and that Jesus did appear again on earth (Baha'is). Cuñado ☼ - Talk 01:03, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I absolutely take your point on the second sentence, and I thank you for agreeing to compromise on the former. If you'll note, I did try my best to work both of our intros together. A Traintalk 01:19, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Muren.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Muren.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Spore (band) deleted

You had previously deleted this entry based on A7 -- "subject is important or significant." I'm giving it another shot having a good deal of familiarity with this band and having found some additional info. I you still think its A7, then that's ok too.

Japanese Animation Club of Orlando

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Japanese Animation Club of Orlando, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add db-author to the top of Japanese Animation Club of Orlando. 132.170.41.61 (talk) 13:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A question

Hey, not sure if you are right person, but you are admin so I will ask you. Can you please do something about Montenegrin related articles on Wikipedia. On every page Serbs edit it and put "Serbian" language, even though official language is Montenegrin, and not Serbian. Can you please help us, as there is no limit of Serbian aggression, even on Wikipedia. And it will show that Wikipedia respects every country constitution. Thanks for reading, I hope I will get answer from you.

Best regards, Rave92

Rave92 (talk) 13:00, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rave-
Having looked into your contribution history and at your talk page, it seems like the problem you're having is that you're trying to make changes that are against the consensus of the other editors you're working with. Why don't you bring it up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Serbia and see if you can't convince other editors that your point of view is correct? The consensus isn't always right, but we can't operate the project without it. Good luck. A Traintalk 15:32, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for neutral opinion

Hi, I and my fellow editors are facing a deadlock on a issue of removing/toning down few lines on 'Allegations of Human Rights violation against the Indian Army' under 'criticism of the operation' section in Operation Blue Star article, concerns include WP:NPOV, WP:SOAP & WP:V, the summary of dispute can be found at [1]. I would request you to kindly go through the article and please let us know your views/opinion at the talk page of the article so that npov, balance and undue weight concerns may be looked into and a consensual solution may be found. Brazilian Man

(If you find language errors, I'm sorry)

Greetings. I've been having troubles while editing some articles and I need an administrator's help. The problem is: there's an user who's preventing me from make my editions, all he does is to remove the data which he himself judges to be vague or unworthy.

For example: In Hulk's article I tried to explain, at the section Powers and abilities, that Hulk possesses a high level superhuman strength. I mean, Hulk's superhuman strength cannot be compared to the superhuman strength of characters like Spider-Man. You certainly know characters as Hulk, Juggernaut and DC's Superman are much stronger than Spider-Man, for, if you read comics, you must know the first ones can easily do things like destroy buildings and mountains maybe with a single hit. Also, the bodies of these characters are too strong that don't allow them to be killed by bullets, missiles, electricity, fire, great explosions, falling from huge heights or common injuries, unlike the arachnoid hero, and Spider-Man fought already every one of them, but was easily outmatched. Do you understand that?

Then, I tried to put this information in order to explain that there are differences between the strengths of such characters, but this user just don't want to realize anything of this, and keeps reverting my editions. I'm sure he also knows that such differences exist. But I'm not saying that such characters deserve a proper category.

Another example: I tried to write in the article Doctor Doom, at the section Mental Powers, that Doom used his ability of exchange bodies in all Fantastic Four members, the worst enemies of him (and I proved it to the user, an you can see it here too), but the same thing happened: the same user deleted the information and he keeps reverting all my editions. He removes all that he wants without starting any talk. Yes, I also didn't start any talk before I made my editions, but I think there's some difference between to add and to remove.

His name is ThuranX. I don't want to continue the war of editions, but I really need your help. In case you are not interested in help me, I will try to talk with another administrator. Thank you.Brazilian Man (talk) 19:12, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fullstops in thumbnail summaries

Hi there. I'm an editor from a gaming wiki and happen to have an inquiry regarding fullstops in image summaries. By which I am referring to the text that you have in a thumbnail image. Is there a reason/specific policy that explains why there aren't any fullstops? Seeing as you are an active admin, I thought you might know. Thanks! As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 00:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are we in agreement?

I've been completely censored. What the hell corp every one of my comments was valid. You should of let people judge for themselves what they thought of them. Censored by corp......makes perfect sense. Well I've read everyones comments so far and the only one who attacks me is the 100% atheist with a baby (shivers). Well I feel weakend because you cesored me so much. I don't even know what to say now. Its quite impossible to respond to all that hate in red. How in the hell would people follow it?? Unless I copied the entire blog and then wrote my responses in BLUE or something. Then knowing you and you megalomania you would do the same thing and respond to my Blue comments in YELLOW. Yellow for your skin color cause your a coward for censoring me. But anyways your freinds would be so confused and bored. It wouldn't be fair. But I do see that EVERYTHING you wrote can a have a rebuttal (and a funny one at that). Your a funny guy corpo. You do make me look foolish by taking apart a a perfectly good message and commenting on every word every second. Anyone can do that to anyones letters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.157.50.142 (talk) 04:10, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Azzam Sept 2005.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Azzam Sept 2005.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:53, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MSU Interview

Dear A Train,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

 • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
 • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
 • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
 • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
 • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 04:06, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
