(I think I basically agree with your oft-repeated stance against "nannying" others at the desks. Generally, it isn't a good idea, and I hesitate whether to make this post or not, but here goes):

Do you think it's possible to activate some sort of internal Bugsbrain-filter that might stop you from making comments and jokes at the expense of a group of people? I'm not talking about referenced answers that are pertinent to the question but happen to document unpleasant truths, WP is not censored and all that. But I think we all should be careful in our more off-topic comments and opinions.

The desks are read and populated by all sorts of creatures. Different age groups, cultural backgrounds, locations, levels of education, etc ... I know that political correctness is a concept everyone loves to hate, but it's really just about not unnecessarily offending other readers and volunteers. You've read the reactions. I dislike seeing that many threads prompted by your style, but I think it would make things a lot easier for everyone, if you kept your self-censor active. Just about all of my favorite comedians boldly defy our cultural norms and taboos, but the desks really aren't the best place for this kind of routine. The audiences are different. I hope this doesn't come across as patronizing. My intention is to make the desks more enjoyable for all, including yourself. G'day Bugs. You made a brief posting at WT:RD. I have now made a brief reply. See diff. Best regards. Dolphin (t) 05:10, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bugs do you actually ever contribute to the pedia proper, or are you just jacking around here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.104.92.70 (talk) 01:12, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coming from you, LC, that's pretty funny. Actually, you're a large part of the reason I stick with wikipedia: You're so cute when you get mad. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:59, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal on the reference desk

May I ask why you removed this question, and responses, from the Reference desk: [3]? I understand that the question may not have been asked in good faith (or maybe it was), but many of the responses were adequate. I think it would be at least appropriate for you to indicate somewhere (either on the Reference desk talk page, or the talk pages of the responders) what you have done, so that we don't have to dig through the history to find out where it's gone, and wonder why it disappeared. Thank you. Buddy431 (talk) 16:08, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • We can't really blame them newbies, eh? Correct me if I got this wrong but they're generally (and blissfully, if I might add) ignorant of the number of lurker, stalker, as well as aliens (aka introduced species) hanging around Wikipedia and Bugs' feeding troth. --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185♪♫™ 19:05, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • The newbies I can see being unaware, but not the ones who've been on the ref desks for years. Oblivion knows no bounds. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:38, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've been on the reference desk since last December, well short of "years". And I don't know about others, but I would really like a note on my talk page when you delete something that I wrote. Buddy431 (talk) 21:05, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My previous suggestion

your e-mail is currently disabled (again) so I cannot contact on that route. Can I ask you to reconsider the suggestion which I recently made to you via e-mail? I am really certain that it is a good idea. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 18:22, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If it's to go back on vacation, you're probably right. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:28, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Elsie (sigh)

What we need to do is create an WP:LTA entry, but 'tis a lot of effort to expend on this waste of time. I thought your suggestion to leave the taunting post there was OK, but of course it got lawyered out immediately. Just save the diff link and post it in future, it really does say it all. Your last ANI post regarding MoMK

Bugs, pondering a question on the Humanities in his attic.

And who said one can't have a good view from a basement? You just proofed them wrong. (Just remembered a very old conversation where you posted a basement pic and claimed to edit from there).TMCk (talk) 19:30, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm out of the cellar. I'm in the attic now. :) I've been watching that article for awhile, with some interest, though I don't think I've ever edited it unless it was to revert blatant vandalism. And I don't have a clue what the "truth" of the situation is, but that's not wikipedia's purpose anyway. Generally speaking, the "truth" is whatever reliable sources say it is, from our perspective. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:51, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. So you made it all the up to the attic but if user:Sluzzelin's pic edit can be trust you're still a poor poet. Bummer. I really wished you better. No just be careful not to lean out of the window too far as you might experience a deep fall that could place you in the hospital's basement. :) In any case, please keep up your wittiness even if in pain. :) TMCk (talk) 21:36, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. The resemblance is uncanny. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:05, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean the pic I agree. It hardly resembles a rabbit. Disgraceful if you ask me.TMCk (talk) 22:50, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It used to be that anytime someone was tested for pregnancy, they would say, "The rabbit died." You never hear that anymore. I tell youse, there's no respect nowadays. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:54, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like the duck was right: It's rabbit season.TMCk (talk) 00:12, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use?! :-O Of course you can and should welcome the White Rabbit here or anywhere else, I'm too endeared and cannot part with him yet, but the elusive Rabbit can be in many places at once (like other lagomorphs on this page :-) ---Sluzzelin talk 09:47, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what to think about this one. An article based entirely on allegations seems slippery. But the motivation to delete it also seems slippery. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:44, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blackworm insists on singlehandedly restoring the phrase "second degree rape of a child" [7], despite being reverted by multiple editors, and a clear consensus against him on the talk page. Before a request for comment can be opened, two users must certify that they have attempted to resolve the dispute. If this behaviour continues, would you be willing to certify an RFC? Peter Karlsen (talk) 01:42, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jailhouse Rock

OneWayRadio (talk · contribs)'s first edit was on WT:Reference desk, I'm guessing some kind of potty-mouth connection with the Italian who has the one or two way-radio here, per One o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock rock. Thoughts? --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 03:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
