Your edit summary was unwarranted. I did not claim to have fact checked anything. I undid an UNEXPLAINED DELETION, just like I said in my edit summary when I reverted a deletion that was done without any edit summary at all. The whole thing could have been avoided if the IP editor who removed the content had just left an edit summary explaining why. <font face="Frankenstein SF, Luftwaffe, Fraktur, Old English Text MT">Wilhelm Meis</font> <font face="Helvetica">(&#9742; Diskuss &#124; &#x270D; Beiträge)</font> 06:18, 24 December 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Syal Antilles Fel

A tag has been placed on Syal Antilles Fel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!

I noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:

 1. Read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
 2. Look at orphan,do-attempt, and articleissues closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly. (It's not difficult, but it is easy to screw up. Trust me, I have.)
 3. Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month. Right now we're just trying to keep up with all the new orphans being created, so please start with the current monthly category. Once those are cleared out, we can start working on the backlog in reverse-chronological order.
Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project!

Original research

Please don't add anything to articles (as you did to Lolcat, xkcd, and Chuck Norris Facts) without providing a source; otherwise, your edits will be removed for violating Wikipedia's policy on original research. Thank you, —Politizer talk/contribs 18:33, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but a forum thread can't be used to verify; see Wikipedia's policy on reliable sources.
And yes, I know what Fact is, you don't need to remind me of that. That is used to mark something in an article that is not referenced but could be. When I see something that looks entirely like original research and almost certainly has no reliable sources out there to verify it, I remove it. If you disagree on how non-encyclopaedic information should be dealt with, there are discussions you can join in at places like WT:OR. —Politizer talk/contribs 18:46, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, the fact that the O-Chul facts (and a few other facts I removed, I don't remember which ones in particular) doesn't exist outside the forum threads just means they aren't notable according to Wikipedia's notability policy and shouldn't be included at all. —Politizer talk/contribs 19:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A forum thread does not meet Wikipedia's definition of a reliable source. The only way you could have a reliable source for this is if something like a newspaper or something ran a story about how this joke was showing up on OOTS boards. The OOTS boards themselves are not, and will never be, a "reliable source," because anyone can post anything they want—there is no standard for review. If you think I'm lying, go as an administrator to come look at this. —Politizer talk/contribs 01:21, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Elmo

Hey, Jtle515, I was recently patroling the "Elmo" article in which you contributed to. I noticed the edit you made. Wikipedia does not need this type of nonsense on it. Wikipedia is a place that you learn accurate information, let's keep it accurate. Evil Elmo is not my (and anyone's) idea of a way of learning accurate info. I have removed your edit, and hope you will not do it anymore. If you have any questions or comments, just ask on my talk page. Thanks and Happy Editing! --i-am-entertainU (talk) 04:31, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Losthorizons.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Losthorizons.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

 • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
 • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 02:52, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

March 2011

Thank you for your contribution to Penny Arcade (webcomic), but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely-used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox to get started. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 08:06, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Ilovetolickbutts". The reason given for Ilovetolickbutts's block is: " Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information). We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

Someone on my college's network used the username "Mitt Romney's DNA" or something like that, so now I'm range-banned without having done anything.

Accept reason:

Checking, please hold. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:22, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Aye, it looks as though someone's gone on a bit of a spree where you're located and has created a ton of accounts. I just knocked out another one that had been missed. Far as I can tell, though, you're not a part of all that, so what I'm going to do is shuffle around the blocks a bit to keep them out but let you edit. It'll take a moment, as I need to get someone else to carry out the reblocking so as not to give your IP address away unnecessarily, but you should be able to edit soon. I'll come back once you can. A tag has been placed on File:Radcliffe Camera 2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Replaceable fair use File:Rich Burlew at a convention.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Rich Burlew at a convention.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:58, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 13

Hi. When you recently edited Julius Caesar (play), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Doublet (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:15, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
