For us both, involved in writing geographical articles about Somalia, it is useful to have a common understanding of what is a populated place and what is not. Kindly be constructive and make an effort to read how this works: Many of the geographical websites we use as sources (Geonames.org, Geographic.org, Getamap etc.) use the same geographical Feature classification and Feature Designation Codes. First, geographical features are subdivided into a number of major categories or classes, such as H-Class features (Hydrographic features, such as streams, lakes, wadis etc.); L-Class features (these are Area features, such as localities, areas, hunting reserves etc.); P-Class features (Populated Place features, such as towns, villages, capitals, seats of admin. divisions etc.); etc. These major groups are subdivided into narrowly defined features, each with a unique "Feature Designation Code" (short: FD-Code). For instance, within the P-Class features we have PPL as the FD-code for Populated Place; PPLL for Populated Locality; PPLA for seat of a first-order administrative division etc.. Within the L-Class features we have i.a. LCTY for a locality; GRAZ for a grazing area; RESH for a hunting reserve, etc. It is all neatly listed on this page (including the statistics for Somalia). From this classification it follows that a locality (LCTY) is NOT a populated place, because a populated locality is defined differently and has a separate FD-code (PPLL). In Somalia there are 4.247 populated places (PPL); 208 Populated Localities (PPLL) and 2.658 Localities (LCTY), according to Geonames. The fact that Localities (LCTY's) are unpopulated is supported by the fact that Localities never show human habitation on aerial imagery at the given location. IF -unexpectedly- an LCTY does show a human settlement on aerial imagery then of course we can decide ourselves to call it a Populated Place or Populated Locality, as these Geographical websites do sometimes contain errors. The combination of information from such a Geo-site plus aerial imagery makes for the best informed decision. I hope this clears the air and that we can agree on this in the future. Can you or @Rosiestep: see if you can replace sources 37, 67, 98 and see if you can replace any of the lesser known Somalia websites with stronger sources. Those three stand out the most though. It would be good Midday if you can go through each source and check it verifies it and try to replace with the best source you can find in some cases. The others are probably OK but I prefer solid global news outlets (Reuters, BBC etc) or books as much as possible. Best to replace all of the ones without a url with some verifiable, I believe there's also one from 1986 which might be replaced. It surprises a lot of people but you don't actually have to source the lead, if you look at recent FAs for instance like Ralph Richardson you'll notice this. Given the sketchy coverage of the city in google books you've really done a terrific job in compiling a fairly credible article on the city. Is there nothing worth saying post 2011 in the history though? I don't want much detail on the war of course, but I wondered if there was anything worth mentioning since? Your call anyway! You, John Carter, StAnselm, In ictu oculi and Adjwilley, all editors who work on religious topics, might want to keep a lookout for Pass a Method (talk · contribs) using IP addresses or an alternate registered account to edit Wikipedia. I've mentioned that he's done it before. With his Pass a Method account, he also threatened to do just that (that bit is not in his archives, by the way; he sometimes excludes damning information from them). His account has not been active since February 25, 2014, after he archived everything, and I believe he will never be able to willingly stop editing Wikipedia for long. He edits the Simple English Wikipedia (see here), especially when he can't get his POV on the general English Wikipedia and so settles for adding it there, but, since that site does not have as much exposure as the general English Wikipedia, I don't think he could ever be satisfied only editing that type of Wiki. I will obviously be vigilant with regard to the articles about sex. If any of you reply to me about this matter, I prefer that the commentary is made here at this talk page, as to keep the discussion in one place. Cheers, Middayexpress (talk) 19:34, 19 March 2014 (UTC) It's recently been brought to my attention via email that Pass a Method used Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/WikiBreak Enforcer to enforce a self-imposed WP:Wikibreak until the year 2020; I saw the User:Pass a Method/vector.js edit because it's currently the last edit in his edit history, but I didn't pay much attention to it then. Yes, the year 2020 factor makes me even more certain that he is already using IPs and likely an alternate registered account to edit the general English Wikipedia. For example, this IP caught my eye. Pass a Method is British; that IP is British. Pass a Method likes the Incest article. Pass a Method, just like that IP, often uses bare URLs to source material.
