Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?

Because WikiProjects like Russia, or Belarus can't cover all of the subjects concerning Eurasian Union. Similiar reason like WP European Union was created. --Wustenfuchs 15:16, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

  1. Most proposed countries are not of sufficient interest to Wikipedia's userbase to maintain a group of users active enough to sustain a wikiproject. At best, this would be a workgroup of some other wikiproject. I do not forsee sufficient activity to justify a wikiproject. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 05:30, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

Why would Eurasia be a topic covered by this project? If Europe and Asia aren't, then Eurasia shouldn't be either. 70.24.251.208 (talk) 05:21, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Europe and Asia also should be covered as many countries from those continents are involved with the Union. --Wustenfuchs 15:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the point in covering Eurasia, Europe or Asia, it should only cover those countries involved in the proposed union. The continent articles/categories are too broad. It's like covering "Europe" and/or "Eurasia" under WP:LUXEMBOURG. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 06:36, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This should be a task force, unfortunately. Potential number of participants will be small, any language from those areas are harder to understand, and I'm sure that people from those areas may not be aware of English Wikipedia. --George Ho (talk) 17:16, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Task force of which WikiProject? This is way I didn't wanted it to be a task force, because I coudln't tell to wich WikiProject should this task force belong. It just wouldn't be right if we include it in WikiProject Russia, even though, it is the most optimal solution. Further, we can alway rely on Pravda and other newspapers which deal with geopolitics. --Wustenfuchs 23:04, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It could be a joint TF between WP:EUROPE and WP:ASIA. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 06:36, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, WP Europe and WP Asia are dealing with geography, while WP Eurasian Union would deal with geopolitics, politics, economy, society, international relations etc. --Wustenfuchs 17:42, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AFRICA , WP:CARIBBEAN, WP:CENTRAL AMERICA, all have country task forces. I don't see why this should be any different. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 04:07, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Eurasian Union isn't a country. --Wustenfuchs 12:28, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is a proposed country. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 05:27, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ofcourse not. It's something like European Union, and according to Putin, countris within the EAU would be even more independent. --Wustenfuchs 10:36, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is a proposed political union, a country. The EU is a proposed country. -- 70.49.127.65 (talk) 00:10, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
