Welcome to the New religious movements work group of WikiProject Religion. Several Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of new religious movements, cults, the New Age, and related topics, and the organization of information and articles on these topics. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.
Goals
- This group has as its goals to create, improve, and maintain articles relating to new religious movements in a neutral, non-biased, atmosphere of cooperation.
Scope
- The scope of this group is articles relating to new religious movements, which should be included in the Category:New religious movements or its subcategories. This group acknowledges and is grateful for the efforts of other existing WikiProjects and groups, and will devote its attention primarily to those topics which do not clearly fall within the scope of other religion projects. - Please use {{WPReligion}} as the assessment banner, following the information provided on that page.
- It is probable that we should have at least one navigation template for each of the NRMs we deal with which have more than one extant article dealing with them, as well as navigation templates for the subject of NRMs in general and for any of the various "types" of NRMs, like cargo cults, UFO religions, etc. These templates should all be listed below.
- It would of course also be useful if we had any sort of award specifically for the subjects the group deals with. Anyone with any talent in such matters is more than encouraged to create one and list it below.
