2013 MotoGP World Championship

The 2013 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season will be the 65th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season.

Team and rider changes
- Andrea Dovizioso will replace Valentino Rossi at Ducati after spending one season as a Monster Yamaha Tech 3 semi-works rider.[1]
- Marc Márquez will join the MotoGP category, racing for the Repsol Honda Team after rules preventing rookie riders from racing for factory teams were relaxed.[4]
- After two seasons racing for Ducati, Valentino Rossi will return to Yamaha.[8]
- Following months of speculation as to who will take the remaining factory ride, Andrea Dovizioso will move from Tech 3 Yamaha to Ducati Corse for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
- Bradley Smith, who rode for Tech 3 in the Moto2 category in the 2010 and 2011 seasons will be promoted to the team's MotoGP squad, Monster Yamaha Tech 3.[6]
- In July 2012, Ben Spies announced that he would leave the Yamaha Factory Racing team at the end of the 2012 season.[9]
- 2007 and 2011 MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner officially announced his retirement at the end of 2012 season.[4]
Contracted Grands Prix
The 2013 championship will see the expansion of the calendar to include three new races in Argentina, India and a third round in the United States, with the races to be held at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo,[10] Buddh International Circuit,[11] and the Circuit of the Americas respectively.[12]
