5.5 Metre World Championship

The 5.5 Metre World Championship are international sailing regattas in the 5.5 Metre class organized by the International Sailing Federation and the International 5.5 Metre Class Association.[1]
Most titles has Norwegian sailor Kristian Neergaard won, with eight titles between 1990 and 2015 and another six silver medals. Second most titles has Swiss Flavio Marazzi, with six.
The most championships has been won by Swiss sailors, 20 editions, followed by American sailors, ten titles, and sailors of Australia and Norway (seven each).
The 5.5 Metre was an Olympic class from 1952 to 1968.
History
The first 5.5 Metre World Championship were held in Helsinki in 1961.
