Ala-Buka is a raion (district) of Jalal-Abad Region in western Kyrgyzstan. The capital lies at Ala-Buka.[1] Its area is 2,976 square kilometres (1,149 sq mi), and its resident population was 87,460 in 2009.[2]

Populated places

In total, Ala-Buka District comprised 41 villages in 8 rural communities (aiyl okmotus). Each rural community can consist of one or several villages. The rural communities and settlements in the Ala-Buka District are:[3]

  1. Ak-Korgon aiyl okmotu (4: center - village: Ak-Korgon; and also villages Safedbulan, Padek and Bayastan)
  2. Ak-Tam aiyl okmotu (3: center - village: Ak-Tam; and also villages Japa-Saldy and Kyzyl-Ata)
  3. Ala-Buka aiyl okmotu (4: center - village: Ala-Buka; and also villages Dostuk, Sapalak and Sary-Talaa)
  4. Kek-Serek aiyl okmotu (6: center - village: Tengi; and also villages Ak-Taylak, Birlishken, Koshbolot, Sara-Kel and Teleke)
  5. Örüktü aiyl okmotu (5: center - village: Örüktü; and also villages Kenkol, Orto-Tokoy, Oruktu Say and Cholok Tuma)
  6. Pervomay aiyl okmotu (7: center - village: Ayry-Tam; and also villages Ak-Bashat, Alma-Bel', Jany-Shaar, Kara-Unkyur, Ajek and Sovet-Say)
  7. Torogeldi Baltagul aiyl okmotu (6: center - village: Yzar; and also villages Baymak, Kashkalak, Kelte, Kosh-Almurut and Kosh-Terek)
  8. Kek-Tash aiyl okmotu (6: center - village: Bulak-Bashi; and also villages Jalgyz-Oryuk, Kek-Tash, Kulpek-Say, Orto-Suu and Chong-Say)
