Edward William Abel, CBE (born 3 December 1931) is a British chemist, editor of textbooks on organometallic chemistry and former president of the Royal Society of Chemistry (1996-1998).[1]

He was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1997.[2]
