This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Tru100 (talk | contribs) at 22:31, 27 January 2021 (I added the common origin of the surname, and fixed mistakes that the last editor made.). Holland is a Dutch toponymic surname, and it comes from the region of Holland on the Western coast of the Netherlands. Holland is also an anglicization of the Irish language surname Ó hUallacháin (which also has sometimes been anglicized differently, as Houlihan and Holohan). Holland is a common surname in many parts of Ireland. Sometimes it can indicate an ancestral origin in parts of England, namely Holland, Lincolnshire; Upholland, Lancashire and Holland-on-Sea (Essex).
