MBC Persia is a free-to-air television channel owned by MBC Group. It originally broadcast Hollywood films 24/7, but circa late 2009 it began featuring a variety of television series alongside the films.

It is aimed at Persian-speakers in Iran and its diaspora in Arab countries, particularly the GCC. It debuted its broadcasting on July 9, 2008, at 11:30 GMT. On August 25, MBC Persia HD was encrypted on the MY HD platform, and later changed its name to MBC+ Variety. It subtitled its programs into Arabic. MBC Persia is an Emirati free-to-air television channel that broadcasts movies and TV series subtitled in Persian. It is aimed at the 120 million Persian-speakers in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. MBC Group announced on Wednesday the launch of MBC Persia, a family entertainment channel catering for the Farsi-speaking community in the MENA region to air on October 6, 2018. According to a statement from the pan-Arab network, the channel – which will air on Yahsat – will be launched under the aim to provide “Never Ending Entertainment.” It will feature a wide variety of international programming subtitled in Farsi, including global films, television series and other entertainment shows. MBC Persia is working on the production of its own exclusive original programming, as well as airing critically-acclaimed dramas, comedy, and social and political series from a number of production territories, including the United States, among others.
