Shamshir Rural District (Persian: دهستان شمشير) is in the Central District of Paveh County, Kermanshah province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Shamshir.

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 8,680 in 2,138 households.[3] There were 9,167 inhabitants in 2,593 households at the following census of 2011.[4] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,234 in 3,044 households. The largest of its eight villages was Durisan, with 3,500 people.[2]
