Elections in the Netherlands Antilles were elections of the States of the former Netherlands Antilles.

The Netherlands Antilles had (before its dissolution) a multi-party system, with numerous parties to form coalition governments after the elections. The States (Staten) had 22 members, elected for a four-year term in -in its last years- five constituencies formed by the five Island territories.

  • 1 In 1977 Saba and St. Eustatius were allowed to send 2 non-voting representatives to the States due to the electoral weight of St. Maarten in the election for the Dutch Windward Islands voting representative to the States (this representative continued to represent Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten until the territory was split up in 1983)

2006 elections of the States

The 2006 elections resulted in the last States that would sit for four years. It preceded the 2010 Netherlands Antilles general election, which took place in January and was dissolved upon the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles. Template:Netherlands Antilles parliamentary election, 2006
