Milki is a town in the English Bazar CD Block of the Malda Sadar subdivision of Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal.[3]

Geography

Milki is located at 25°01′07″N 88°00′00″E / 25.0186°N 87.9999°E / 25.0186; 87.9999 the English Bazar (Community development block) of Malda district. The nearest railway station is Malda Town railway station which is 16 km away. The sub-district headquarters is located 15 km away in the English Bazar of Malda district. The district headquarters of Milki is Malda Sadar.

Milki is administrated by Milki gram panchayat of the English Bazar Community development block of Malda district.

According to the 2011 census, Milki has a population of 12,581. This makes Milki the largest town in English Bazar Block out of total three census towns and 108 villages. 6,528 (52%) were males and 6,053 (48%) were females. Bengalis comprise the majority of Milki's population, with 99.83% of citizens being Bengali. Bengali Muslims account for 77.28% of Milki's population, whereas Bengali Hindus comprise 22.55% of the town's population. The total number of literates in Milki was 6,541 (59.78%).[5]

Market

Milki has a large market that sells car and vehicle garages. It is known for old car and car batteries.

Healthcare

Milki Rural Hospital is the main medical facility in English Bazar CD Block, containing thirty beds.[6]
