Nkwerre is one of the Local Government Areas in Imo State, Nigeria with its headquarters in Nkwerre town where the name of local government area was derived.
It has an area of 38 km² and a population of 80,152 at the 2006 census.
The postal code of the area is 471.[1]
In 2015 A University was built in Nkwerre,Ishiala umudi. Hezekiah University
