The Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (Bulgarian: Алтернатива за българско възраждане, АБВ; Alternativa za balgarsko vazrazhdane) is a centre-left[3] political party in Bulgaria. The party's initials in Bulgarian, 'АБВ', are the first three letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, equivalent to 'ABC'.[4]
History
The party was founded and is led by Georgi Parvanov, who was President of Bulgaria from 2002 to 2012, as a splinter from the Bulgarian Socialist Party.[5] In the May 2014 European elections, the party received 4% of the vote, failing to elect any MEPs.[6] In the October 2014 parliamentary election, the party received 4.15% of the vote and 11 seats in the National Assembly.[7]
