'Verne Global' owns and operates a 40-acre data center campus near Keflavik, Iceland. The company went operational in 2012 and is focused on supporting high performance computing (HPC), supercomputing and intensive computing workloads (AI, machine learning and blockchain computing).

The company is headquartered in the United Kingdom and is privately owned. Its investors include Novator Partners, General Catalyst Partners The Wellcome Trust and Iceland based Stefnir.

Verne Global provides high performance computing colocation and cloud services for a variety of companies including BMW, Volkswagen, Earlham Institute, DeepL and ThreatMetrix.

Location

Verne Global is located on the site of the former Naval Air Station Keflavik, which was once served as a NATO airbase located in southwest Iceland. Iceland was regarded as the lowest risk data center location globally by Cushman and Wakefield.

Sustainability

Verne Global benefits from utilizing Iceland's renewable energy in the form of hydro-electric and geothermal power.
