The Pakistan national cricket team toured Australia in the 1988-89 season to take part in the Benson & Hedges World Series against Australia and West Indies. Pakistan was eliminated in the qualifying stage, having won only two of the side's eight matches.[1]

Pakistan played one first-class match on the tour against New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The game was drawn.[2]

The Pakistani team then moved on to pay a three-Test series and one-day matches in New Zealand – see the separate article, Pakistani cricket team in New Zealand in 1988-89.
