Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET), formerly Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology, is a private engineering University (earlier known as Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology) located at Raghogarh, Guna, Madhya Pradesh, India.

History

Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna was established in 2003 based on the memorandum of understanding signed between Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (a not-for-profit trust) and the government of Madhya Pradesh with an aim of becoming a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology. Government of Madhya Pradesh vide Gazette Extraordinary No. 3 of 2010 dated 29 April 2010 approved it as the first private university in the State of Madhya Pradesh under the provisions of Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2007. This was formally assented by His Excellency the Governor of Madhya Pradesh on 10 August 2010 for the establishment of Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology (JUET), Raghogarh, Guna (M.P.), vide Act No. 23 of 2010 published in Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extraordinary) Notification Srl. No. 420 dated 13 August 2010. JUET was approved by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956.

Academic

Institute offers undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Technology degree and postgraduate programa leading to a Master of Technology degree. Institute also offers BSc and MSc program.

Other activities

Hostel

the university has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Presently, there are 20 blocks of boy's hostels having the capacity to accommodate 2360 students. The girls hostel is having the capacity to accommodate around 424 inmates with its own sporting & messing facility. The rooms are equipped with beds, mattresses, study tables, almirahs, wardrobes, lights, fans and Internet connectivity and a centralized air cooling facility. Each room is multi seated (two or three students), all facilities are provided on an individual basis.
