Hancock Whitney Stadium is an under-construction multi-purpose stadium in Mobile, Alabama. It is the home of the South Alabama Jaguars football program,[1] starting with the 2020 season. The stadium took over from Ladd–Peebles Stadium as the Jaguars' football facility. The stadium's field will be designated Abraham A. Mitchell Field, after a substantial donor to the program.[1]
The stadium will open with South Alabama's 2020 home opener against Grambling State on September 12, 2020.[2] It will also become home to the Senior Bowl, a postseason college all-star game, starting with its next edition in January 2021. That game had been held at Ladd–Peebles Stadium for nearly 70 years.[3]
