Cheng

Cheng is a mukim in Central Malacca District, Malacca, Malaysia. It is located around 15 km from Malacca City.[1]

Facilities

This mukim is booming due to its strategical location. The main access is through the AMJ Highway. It can also be accessed via the Sungai Udang - Ayer Keroh Highway or simply the SPA Highway. The Malacca International Airport is just a 5 kilometers away. There were several housing estates, including Bukit Cheng, Cheng Perdana, and Cheng Baru. It also has an industrial zone; Cheng Technology Park, which is located to the southeast of Cheng. There are also several banks that operate. A number of restaurants can also be found here. Most of them are Chinese restaurants or coffee shops.

Tesco has opened a second outlet in Cheng (Paya Rumput). Several local banks has also opened their branches in Cheng due to new business opportunities, e.g., CIMB, Maybank, HSBC, Ambank, Alliance, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Mualamat. The recent completed Bandar Cheng Utama (officially Taman Paya Rumput Utama), Paya Rumput which adjacent to Tesco boosting the value of the property markets in Cheng.
