"Hanarete Ite mo" (Japanese: 離れていても, lit. even if we are far apart) is a song by the Japanese idol girl group, AKB48. It was digitally release in Japan on July, 1 2020. The song is sung by 105 AKB48 active members excluded one member from SKE48, six former AKB48 members, one former member from HKT48 and NMB48.[1]

Release & promotion

The song is performed for the first time at TBS's CDTV Live! Live! on June 22, 2020 with different cut from the music video.[2] This song was released to support people during Covid-19 pandemic, thus the profit from each download prior to December 31 will be donated to medical staff and to support activities to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection.[3] This is also second song from Yasushi Akimoto that he wrote to support pandemic after Nogizaka46 "Sekaijuu no Rinjin yo". The music video is released on June 22 and directed by Isomi Dai showing each member singing the song at their home with lyrics showing in the screen and showing some members doing their activities, some of them can be shown wearing mask and doing social distance practice when going outside.[4] The official translated lyric is available at the video description that uploaded on YouTube.[5]
