Lacking signal indicators, bicyclists are instructed to use hand and arm signals. Drivers are instructed to use turn signals to convey their intentions. If hand gestures are specific to given regions, provide a link that describes where drivers must use hand gestures. undo

Driver's manuals instruct drivers to use turn signals to let other drivers know their intentions. Moreover, it's not possible to make eye contact if (1.) one driver is wearing photo-chromatic lenses, tinted glasses, or sunglasses; or (2.) if it is nighttime; or (3.) the other driver isn't making eye contact. A driver removing prescription glasses or sunglasses to make mutual eye-contact would increase risk. There are other reasons along these lines. undo
