Ambérieu-en-Bugey is a commune in the department of Ain in eastern France.

It is the largest town in the arrondissement of Belley and the seat of the Ambérieu-en-Bugey canton, as well as the capital of the historic region of Bugey.

Geography

The town lies in the commune's western part, on the right bank of the river Albarine, which forms most of the commune's southern border.
