Asim Munir HI(M) is a Lieutenant general in the Pakistan Army. He was promoted to Lieutenant general in September 2018 and subsequently appointed Director-general of the Inter-Services Intelligence, the intelligence agency of Pakistan. Munir's previous appointment was as Director-general of Military Intelligence. He was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz in March 2018. He had earlier served as commander of Force Command Northern Areas.[1][2] He is also a Hafiz-e-Quran.[3]
