Austria was represented by Udo Jurgens, with the song Merci, Chérie, at the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 5 March in Luxembourg City. This was the third time in a row that Austria was represented by Udo Jürgens and the first time Austria has won the contest.
