CJNI-FM (95.7 MHz) is a Canadian radio station in Halifax, Nova Scotia. CJNI-FM has a News/Talk/Sports radio format branded as News 95.7. The station is owned by Rogers Media which also owns sister station 92.9 CFLT-FM. CJNI-FM is currently the only commercial News/Talk/Sports station in Atlantic Canada. Programming

On weekdays, CJNI-FM has all-news blocks during morning and afternoon drive times. Middays, two talk shows are heard, hosted by Rick Howe and Sheldon MacLeod. Those shows are repeated on weekends. And in the evening and overnight, along with weekend afternoons, CJNI-FM airs sports. The station carries play-by-play from three teams: Toronto Blue Jays baseball, Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey and the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Other times, CBS Sports Radio programming is heard.

History

On November 26, 2004, Rogers Communications received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for a new English-language News/Talk commercial FM radio station in Halifax to operate at 95.7 MHz.[1] The station officially signed on the air on October 11, 2005, at 5:30 a.m.

The station was networked with CKNI in Moncton, New Brunswick, and CHNI in Saint John, New Brunswick, until August 2014, when those two stations were sold to separate owners and flipped to music formats.
