Split: Autism rights movement and autism cure movement

[edit]

As the campaigns and goals of autism activists represent diametrically opposed views, it is strange to put them all in one category. I propose splitting this category into "autism rights activists" and "autism cure activists" to disambiguate. As they are both small categories, this page should remain as one page and list both categories. Muffinator (talk) 22:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really see any point in splitting such a small category of people. It would be like splitting Category:United States Secretaries of State according to political party: they all do the same kinds of work, even if their POVs are different. WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:18, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Huuuge tracts of land!

[edit]

It is always jarring to find that overnight edits to any WP article have been made, but even more so when the edits are done to a category causing it to diminish its articles by 20 percent or more.

Just spot checking this morning, I found several articles that actually comply with the definitions describing the category. Sooo, why delete them? The articles' subjects are activists and often include mention of their activism related to autism.

It appears to me, instead, that these now-deleted articles are the victims of vandalism, not considered edits or deletions.

I hope someone can and might reverse the edits. That is a lot of damage done without even the hint of asking for consensus before making the changes.174.23.149.98 (talk) 14:52, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
