Chalk Bluff is a former settlement in Nevada County, California.[1]

The site of Chalk Bluff is located in the Sierra Nevada, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of the settlement of Red Dog.[1]

It was a mining camp started around 1850 during the early California Gold Rush period.[1]

All the residents moved to nearby Red Dog.[1] It still appeared on maps as of 1873.[1]
