Charmaine Williams is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2022 provincial election. She represents the riding of Brampton Centre as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. She defeated Deputy Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party Sara Singh.[1] Williams was previously a behavioural therapist before running for politics. In 2018, she became the first Black woman elected to the Brampton City Council representing Wards 7 and 8.[2][3] On June 24, she was appointed to the Ford Ministry as Associate Minister of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity.[4]
