Delhi Public School, Gwalior opened in Gwalior, India, on July 3, 2006. The school is CBSE affiliated and under the aegis of the DPS Society, New Delhi.It is ranked no.1 school in Gwalior by Education World and digital learning magazine. It is a co-educational school located at Rairu, AB road, Gwalior.[2]

Origin and History

Delhi Public School, Gwalior, established in July 2006 with the motto “Service Before Self”, is run under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Gwalior in a quiet place called Rairu. Mr Sunil Bhalla has been the Principal of the School since its inception. The school has about 2600 students and a staff of about 150.The school is spread over 12 acres of land, amidst green fields and away from the pollution and noise of the city. The school has an excellent infrastructure and is one of the best schools in M.P., construction is still going on as new buildings are being added regularly. In just nine years of its inception, the school has carved a niche for itself as the best educational institution in the city. The school offers the choice of two streams currently – Science & Commerce. Humanities Stream will be introduced soon.It is laudable that DPS GWALIOR is ranked as number 1 in city of Gwalior,number 2 in the state of M.P. and number 62 in the country by Education World doing surveys for schools and colleges.

House system

The four houses are named after major rivers of India, the Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, and Kaveri.

Examination structure

Traditional methods of giving examinations and evaluating students are not in existence at DPS Gwalior. Weekly tests are conducted as a part of Formative Assessments and Saturday Tests are conducted for senior classes. Tours and trips are a feature of DPS which gives the children an opportunity to see places.

The School and the Campus

The campus contains well-lit airy class rooms, courtyards for indoor games, and beautiful lawns. Apart from the basic necessities which are kept clean and hygienic at all times, there are well equipped Science, Social Science, Maths and Computer labs. Well equipped language labs and A.V. Rooms further enable students to enhance their listening and speaking skills. To cater to the commuting needs of students DPS Gwalior has a fleet of buses which conform to the highest norms of safety and are manned by well trained drivers and assistants with mobile facility.
