Wiki Loves Africa (WLA) is an annual international photographic competition[1] held during the month of March, organised worldwide by Wikipedia community members with the help of local Wikimedia affiliates across the globe. Participants take pictures of the announced Theme in their region, and upload them to Wikimedia Commons. The aim of event is to highlight and improve content about Africa, to encourage people to capture pictures of Africa, and to put them under a free licence which can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone.
WLA 2024 Theme[edit]
The International theme of the contest for 2024 is Africa Create.[2]
Sudan Edition for 2024[edit]
Every year Participating country is promoting the contest with the announced theme withing the local community of users or communities through thier own events and activities. The local organizers are free to choose local winners> For Sudan 2024 the organizing team for the year have several events online and in person.
