The ECRL is totally new line based on double-track standard gauge and might start from Serendah connecting the current rail track of KTM West Coast Line to Bentong and Mentakab and certainly will involve underground tunnelling at Titiwangsa Mountains. The current 70 km single railway track Kerteh-Kuantan Port Railway Line purpose for Petronas oil refinery logistic infrastructure will be linked and upgraded into this project.[3] [4]
