Fudbalski klub Radnički 1923 (Serbian Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Рaднички 1923, English: Radnički 1923 Football Club ), or simply Radnički Kragujevac, is a professional football club from Kragujevac, Serbia. The name Radnički means "Workers" in Serbian.

History

Early years

The club was formed in 1923 under the name Mladi Radnik. The first club president was Aleksandar Ratković. The first match Mladi Radnik played was against SK Triglav where they lost 2-0. The first visitor to play FK Mladi Radnik was SK Radnički from Belgrade. The match was played 16 August 1925 with SK Radnički winning 5-0. One week after, 23 August 1925, Mladi Radnik won its first match against Radnički Niš with the result 7-1. In 1929 Mladi Radnik changed its name to FK Radnički. Radnički was in the prewar years host of teams like Rapid Wien, Olympique Marseille, Ferencváros Budapest and Honvéd Budapest. It was played at the stadium near the train station, where up to 10,000 people gathered to support their club.

1969 to 1976

In 1969 Radnički made it to the Yugoslav First League after beating Sutjeska and FK Crvenka in the play-off. In 7 September 1969 Radnički had a great 4-1 victory over Partizan Belgrade at JNA stadium. On 15 September 1969 Radnički played a 4-4 draw with Brazilian club Santos. The scorers for Santos were Edu with 3 and Pelé with 1 while the scorers for Radnički were Nikolić, Paunović, and Paunovski with 2 goals. Radnički finished 15th in their first season in the first league with an average attendance of 10.850 per match which was the 2nd highest in the league.

2010

In 2010, FK Šumadija Radnički 1923 which was a short lived name of the club during the 2009-10 season after the fusion with FK Šumadija 1903, change its name to FK Radnički 1923 Kragujevac.

Crveni Ðavoli (Serbian Cyrillic: Црвени ђаволи, English: The Red Devils) are supporters of the Kragujevac based football club Radnički Kragujevac. They were established on 9 March 1989. Besides football club, they also support other sport sections of the Radnički Sport Association.
