Appearance
Zoom in?
[edit]@Ronhjones: You suggested that a simple upscale of the image isn't necessary, because "one can zoom in in a browser and get the same result." However, I don't know how to do such a thing. Trying to view the full image, it's still incredibly tiny. I know I am not the only person who has issues with this, as an IP user on the article this is used for made the exact same remark. Scaling the image up makes the individual Pokémon visible without increasing the level of detail, so this shouldn't affect its fair use status in any way, correct? ~Mable (chat) 10:47, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Maplestrip: Wiki's guideline resolution is just based on pixel count, and non free images should be <100,000 pixels. Upscaling makes it 400,000 pixels, which is unlikely to be acceptable. I don't know what system you are using to view, on a PC one just adjusts the zoom - Firefox View... Zoom... or hold control and rotate mouse wheel - on Android tablet put two fingers on screen and move them apart).
- Ah, zoom like that, so that you can't figure out how to get your browser back to the normal, non-zoomed in or out state. I honestly forgot that was even an option because it's always such a pain to undo ^_^; - I don't believe the guideline number of pixels matters much when the quality is the same, right? The image doesn't become any less acceptable in the eyes of international law, after all. ~Mable (chat) 15:48, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Four years later, I still stand by this proposal. ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 12:26, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
